Family Newsletter - Week of 10/19/26

Hello Jefferson Families!

We are looking forward to another great week at Jefferson! We have an exciting week ahead filled with friendly competition, school spirit, and opportunities to celebrate our amazing Wildcats!

Our District Volleyball Tournament takes place this week, and we can't wait to cheer on our teams! Each grade level will compete at a different school: 5th grade at Jefferson, 6th grade at Corral Hollow, 7th grade at Traina, and 8th grade at Hawkins. Be sure to check out the tournament schedule attached below for game details. We wish all of our volleyball players the best of luck!

We also want to wish our students competing in the District Spelling Bee on Thursday the very best! We are proud of their hard work and dedication and know they will represent Jefferson well!

Finally, get ready to light up the school on Friday with Neon Spirit Day! We encourage all students to wear their brightest neon colors and show off their Wildcat spirit! The fun will continue Friday evening with a 6th–8th Grade Dance from 6:00–8:00 p.m. We can't wait to see everyone dressed in their brightest colors and ready for a fun night!

If you would like to coach, a volunteer request form can be picked up in the office, fingerprints have to be cleared, and safety videos have to be watched prior to starting practice, which can take time to complete. So if you are interested, we encourage you to begin the process as soon as possible!

Math Kangaroo Individual Competition

2027 Math Kangaroo USA

Individual Competition Day: Thursday, March 18, 2027

Dear Parents of Jefferson School:

Here is the registration information for the Math Kangaroo 2027 Competition. At our center, Jefferson Middle School, the competition day this school year is Thursday, March 18, 2027. This testing site is private. Testing will be in person (with a chromebook), proctored by Mrs. Abris.

THIS IS FOR JEFFERSON STUDENTS ONLY.

Steps to register:

1. Go to: MATH KANGAROO REGISTRATION PAGE

2. Log in with your login and password or establish your user account if you are new.

3. Click on the tab By Invitation.

4. Invitation Code: CATRACY0003001@2027MC

5. Do not share the code with anyone. This center is PRIVATE and only for Jefferson Middle School 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

6. You are ready to register.

Student Registration & Competition:
- Jefferson Only - Registration link: Team Competition Registration - due September 15, 2026
- Regular Registration: June 15–September 15 — $15 per participant
- Late Registration: September 16–October 15 — $25 per participant
- Jefferson Competition Date: Thursday, November 19, 2026
- Important Reminders: Students and parents are responsible for forming their own teams of 2-4 students. Please make sure your team is confirmed before registering, as all payments are final and cannot be canceled or refunded once completed.
