Dear HMS Families,

Thank you to all of the families that participated in parent-teacher conferences. We appreciate your time and the conversations. If you were unable to attend, please know that our teachers are always available to connect and discuss your child’s progress.

On Tuesday, November 11th, Heritage will host our Veterans Day Assembly. We will begin with a light breakfast at 8:30 AM for Veterans and their families, followed by the assembly at 8:45 AM. If you have family members or neighbors who have served in any branch of the military, Heritage Middle School would like the privilege of honoring them at a special assembly. Please reach out to Clair Pohanka (cpohanka@bsd100.org) or Michelle Hauer (mhauer@bsd100.org) if you have someone you would like to be honored that day, or fill out this Google Form.

For Veterans Day on Tuesday, students can pay $1.00 to be out of uniform and wear red, white or blue.

Berwyn South School District 100 is reviewing the current middle school uniform policy and would like to hear from families. Your feedback will help us understand how families feel about the current policy and whether any changes should be considered. Take the survey here.

The 2025-2026 yearbooks are officially available! If you are interested in purchasing one, you can use this link. Please make sure to save your receipt and let your student know you have purchased a yearbook for them. They will be delivered to the school in May to be distributed to your student before leaving for the year. Yearbooks - On Sale Now!

HMS 25/26 yearbooks are officially available! If you are interested in purchasing one, use this link. Please make sure to save your receipt and share with your student that you have purchased a yearbook for them. Digital Agreement

Our school is excited to provide each student with an iPad to support learning both in and out of the classroom. In order to ensure that devices are used responsibly and remain in good condition, we ask families and students to review the Digital Agreement by filling out this Google Form.

PBIS Rewards

We utilize an app called PBIS Rewards where students earn points throughout the school year for being Responsible, Respectful and Safe. We have a PBIS store that we open for students to purchase fun items with their points. We also do raffles, field trips and a winter extravaganza that students can utilize their points throughout the year. We encourage students to use their points by the end of the year as they do not roll over!

StopIt

This week, students will download STOPit to their iPads. This is an online application that Heritage students have access to. This application allows students to anonymously report incidents of bullying, misconduct or general concerns. All reports go to the support service team and administration, which allows us to act quickly and in real time to any concerns or incidents.

Breakfast & Lunch

Students at Heritage receive free breakfast and lunch each day if they choose to participate, or they may bring their own lunch from home. As a healthy school, we ask that students do not bring pop, energy drinks, or large bags of snacks.

Breakfast will be served each morning before students head to their Period 1 class. Lunch will take place at the scheduled time according to the bell schedule, and students will also have the option to participate in recess during their lunchtime.
