Summer School Summer School

If your student is in danger of failing or has failed a core class, please review the attached information carefully:

  • 2026 Summer School Credit Recovery Info.
  • Summer School Registration Form
  • PCHS Online Learning Acknowledgment and Consent Form

Summer School Credit Recovery is the best way to ensure your student stays on track for graduation. Completing courses over the summer allows students to begin the next school year with a fresh start. Students who successfully complete their summer courses will earn a letter grade, which will be reflected on their high school transcript, calculated into their GPA, and will replace the original failing grade.

Summer school information can also be found on the high school website.

Testing Out of High School Courses Testing Out of High School Courses

Students have the option of pursuing graduation credit of any Michigan Merit graduation required high school course by attaining a grade of C+ (78%) or higher on a comprehensive final exam or through an alternative assessment if a written exam is not appropriate. An alternative assessment may consist of a portfolio, performance, paper, project, or presentation. Credit earned shall be on a “pass” grade and shall not be included in a computation of grade point average for any purpose. The law states that credit will be earned toward PCHS graduation requirements, as well as state graduation requirements. For more information on testing out policies and procedures, please view the Test Out Information Sheet. If you have any questions about testing out/test out procedures, please reach out to Principal, Julia McBride (jmcbride@pinckneypirates.org).

If you'd like to attempt a test out, the 2026 PCHS Test Out Registration Form must be submitted by the last day of school, June 5, 2026.

Test Out will be administered on PCHS Registration Days in mid-August. Specific dates will be communicated once the school calendar has been finalized as a part of the current PEA bargaining process.

All Things Class of 2026! All Things Class of 2026!

Graduation Rehearsal, Clap Out, & Picnic - 9AM-Noonish

On Thursday, May 28, graduation rehearsal will take place in Pirate Stadium from approximately 9:00–10:00 a.m. Seniors should report to Pirate Stadium by 9:00 a.m. sharp, dressed in their cap and gown.

Following rehearsal, seniors will head into PCHS to prepare for the annual clap-out, where they will be celebrated as they exit the building.

Families who would like to attend the clap-out should plan to arrive at the high school by 9:45 a.m. Please sign in at the Main Office upon arrival, then proceed to the Commons to line up. Last year’s clap-out began around 10:15 a.m., though timing may vary depending on the length of rehearsal—arriving early is encouraged.

After the clap-out at PCHS, seniors will board buses to visit the other schools in the district so the entire community can celebrate their accomplishment (Route: Pathfinder, Navigator, Country, Farley).

Students will then return to PCHS for an optional picnic lunch.

Graduation Information

The Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31 at 10:00am in Pirate Stadium.

If the weather is not conducive to an outdoor ceremony, we will make the call on Saturday to move the ceremony into the PCHS Gym.

Tickets: Each student will receive a sheet of 10 tickets with their cap & gown on the last day of school (May 15). These tickets will only be required if the ceremony is moved indoors. There is no maximum on guests in the stadium.

Yard Signs - Last Call!

If you would like to order a yard sign or two to celebrate your Senior, you can do so via this link: https://www.graphic-roots.com/category/phs-signs. See the form below for further information. $3 from every sign ordered will go towards the Senior All-Nighter!

PCHS Monthly STRENGTH: Teamwork PCHS Monthly STRENGTH: Teamwork

Across the month of May, we will capitalize on opportunities to put the character strength of TEAMWORK to work as a school community, during Seminar, class time, and in the day-to-day of our building. Take advantage of opportunities to touch upon this strength at home! In the image below, you can see the rationale for why the Leadership Class selected this strength to be the focus at this time in our school year.

Want to engage with this character strength at home? Check out this family resource page: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/9-12/teamwork/ You’ll find a quote, video, and questions to help you and your children discuss The Positivity Project’s character strength of teamwork.
