Thank you and Farewell

The PDPN would like to take this opportunity to thank Neralie Chappell and Petra Hocking for their years of service to the PDPN.

We will certainly be very sad to see Neralie and Petra leave us, they have made such a valuable contribution to our committee and been dedicated members of the executive for several years.

We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Steve Francis Professional Learning

To coincide with what would have been day 1 of our 2020 conference, the PDPN executive committee organised and paid for a free online professional learning session with Steve Francis. Titled; "Keeping Our Leadership Focused in Covid Times", Steve shared his unique experiences and insights into effective leadership. This is an online video that can still be viewed at anytime using this ink: https://vimeo.com/455528063/e8998a016b

In appreciation of our work during COVID times, as the CEO of Happy School Steve Francis, has offered Primary Deputy Principal Network members FREE Happy School membership for their schools for the rest of 2020.

Schools who are already members can have their membership extended for three months FREE.

We are excited to offer you these two opportunities free of charge.

High Impact Professional Learning

The PDPN was represented on the High Impact Professional Learning State Reference Group (HIPL-SRG) who provided strategic advice to the professional learning policy team to develop a cycle of continuous professional learning for all school staff that is focused on enhancing progress and achievement for every student.

The HIPL-SRG is acting on the findings from the review into professional learning into NSW public schools. The recommendations from this report aim to strengthen practice across all schools.

The HIPL framework has students at the centre as we work towards a clear definition of what defines best practice professional learning. The framework and associated suite of professional learning describes a cycle of learning that is supported and driven by Principals. This is underpinned by planning the learning, applying the learning, creating an enabling context and evaluating the learning.

Next Network Meeting

Our next network meeting of the PDPN executive committee will be held on Friday the 26th of February, Week 5, Term 1.

The venue for our meeting is to be confirmed, it may be in person at a school or via zoom dependent on the current COVID safe rules.

We will be finalising details for our 2021 two day conference, discussing local PDPN collaboration groups and seeking authentic ongoing professional learning opportunities.

Happy Holidays!

We wish you all a safe, relaxing holiday with family and friends.
