Delton Kellogg Schools appreciates your support for our athletic teams. To insure everyone enjoys these events, we ask that you do not bring outside equipment to the games. This includes footballs, soccer balls, mitts etc. Students are asked to be seated in the bleachers with their friends and family.

Delton Kellogg Middle School is proud to offer resources to our students that need help with assignments. One of our dedicated teachers is available to help with questions and provide guidance on available resources. Tuesday's, Mrs. Tyner is available to assist students and Thursdays, Mrs. Estep helps students. Students can catch up on past due assignments or utilize this time to build skills for successful study habits.

Beginning this year, KickStart is asking that any deposits of $20 or more be clearly marked by a parent or guardian expressly stating it is for the KickStart Program. We want to ensure that the money being sent with your children is designated for their account and not for another school activity.

Hello DKMS families! We have completed another fantastic week here at the middle school!

Here are some important upcoming dates:

• Wednesday November 15, 2023 students do not have school.
• Monday November 20, 2023 is a half day for students and the school day ends at 11:30 am. We will have Parent/Teacher conferences from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
• Tuesday November 21, 2023 is a half day for students and the school day ends at 11:30 am. We will have Parent/Teacher conferences from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
• Wednesday November 22, 2023 through Friday November 24, 2023 there is no school for Thanksgiving Break.
• Monday November 27, 2023 students return to school and begin the second trimester.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Sign ups for Parent/Teacher conferences are above in the newsletter. Please find your child’s teachers and sign up for a conference time. You have the option of an in-person, phone, or virtual conference. If you select a virtual conference, it will be held on Google Meets. To be able to access Google Meets you need to have a Google account or you can use your child’s Delton Kellogg Schools Google account. We look forward to discussing your child's academic and social growth so far this year.

Sports Update: On Monday November 13th our boys basketball teams will be playing at Allegan Middle School starting at 4:00 pm. To enter the game you will need to go to this site and buy tickets. Our boys will also be playing on Wednesday at home against Fennville Middle school starting at 4:30 pm.

Our Middle School Competitive Cheer team will be hosting the SAC Jamboree Tuesday November 14th in the high school gym starting at 6:00 pm. Good luck to our Panther teams!

Thanksgiving Food Drive: Our student council is doing a Thanksgiving food drive. Collections started on Monday November 6th and go through Thursday November 16th. These are the foods they are collecting: rolls, butter, potatoes (boxes or bag), cans of French style green beans, cans cream of mushroom soup, can of French onions, 2 gallons of milk, pumpkin pie, apple pie, whipped topping, boxes of stuffing, cans of cranberry sauce, turkey or ham, jars of turkey gravy, cans of sweet potatoes, small bags of brown sugar (for sweet potatoes), and cans of corn.

Our goal is to make Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated!

New Staff Memebers: We have hired a new 7th/8th grade math teacher Mr. Zachary Eastway. He will be taking over for Ms. Marti Lindstrom starting Monday November 13th.

Mr. Eastway is coming to us from Grand Rapids Public Schools, where he taught middle school science and most recently middle school math.

With Mr. Eastway joining our staff, this means Ms. Lindstrom will finally be able to assume her assistant principal role. She will be spending part of her day in the middle school and the other part in the elementary school.

I am very excited to welcome Mr. Eastway to our staff and to have Ms. Lindstrom move into her assistant principal role full time. This gives Ms. Lindstrom and I the opportunity to work with staff, the students, the parents, and the community to create more positive changes within our school.
