State Testing

In a previous newsletter, we shared a letter about state testing. Below you will find out testing schedule so that you know when students will take part in each one.

Thanks to the generosity of the Concord Booster Club, students can earn Test Tickets for demonstrating positive test taking strategies. Test Tickets are entered into a drawing at the end of the school year. Students will have the chance to win from a bunch of prizes. Here are the strategies we encourage:

  • Use scrap paper to solve math problems and when you plan out writing
  • Answer the questions that you know and don’t get stuck on the ones you don’t know
  • Read directions all the way through and determine the number of steps required
  • Jot down notes as you read large passages
  • Read the questions before you read passages
  • Use embedded tools, such as strikethrough or highlighter features
  • Go back and check your work carefully
  • Remain focused on your test
  • Stay positive while taking the test
  • Stay quiet so you don’t distract others
  • Persevere
  • Stay in your testing spot
  • Take your time and do your best work
  • Raise your hand if you have any questions
  • Silent read or draw quietly when you have finished

Absenteeism

We've decided to make things more interesting during the month of March. Any class that has an Average Daily Attendance (ADA) that is higher than 95% AND any class that improves their ADA by at least 3 full points will earn a celebration. School is better when students are here!

Student-Led Conferences

Concord Families,

Conferences will take place on the evening of Thursday, March 19th and the afternoon of Friday, March 20th. If you have selected a data and time, you should have received an invitation. If you did not receive an invitation you can reach out to your child's homeroom/advisory teacher or you can call the front office to you confirm your time. Please remember that students need to be present at their conference, so if your child plans to go off campus for KEAP on Friday afternoon, be sure to schedule their conference for an alternative day and time.

We will provide child care and will serve cookies and juice in the cafeteria during all conference slots. Please stop by and see us.
