8/29 Fourth Grade Weekly Update
Fourth Grade Weekly Updates 8/28
Hello families,
It is hard to believe we have made it through our first month of school. August flew by! We are looking forward to a new month of learning and fun.
Inquiry Project Supplies & Volunteers Needed!
Fourth Grade Self-Care Reminder
As our fourth graders continue to grow and become more independent, we are working on helping them take responsibility for taking care of themselves and their personal hygiene. With warmer weather and more active days, this is a good time to make sure students are developing daily routines that help them feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.
One part of this routine may be wearing deodorant each day, especially on warmer days or days when we have PE or lots of outdoor activity. Body odor is a completely normal part of growing up, and we want to help students navigate these changes in a positive and respectful way.
Thank you for partnering with us as we help our fourth graders become more independent and confident in taking care of themselves!
Toys and Trinkets
We are asking that students DO NOT bring toys or trinkets to school. This includes keychains that a student might consider valuable. Student backpacks are hung up in the 4th grade pod which means every student has access to everyone's belongings. Leaving toys, trinkets, and valuable keychains AT HOME is the best way to ensure they are not misplaced or taken. Please look at the Toys at School Section of the Northeast Parent Student Handbook for more info on our school's policy for toys.
Snacks & Water Bottles
Nutritious Snacks Only!
SNACKS
Please make sure you are sending a nutritious, quick snack with your child. Students are given about 10 minutes in the afternoon to eat their snacks. Please DO NOT send candy with your child to school (see below the NE Parent Student Handbook guideline on snacks).
"Students at Mountain View and Northeast have a snack time which varies by class. Please check with your student’s teacher for the time. Parents may send nutritious snacks (soda pop, candy or other sugar-laden products are not acceptable) daily with their student(s)."
WATER BOTTLES
Please send a water bottle with your child to school everyday. This is incredibly important as the weather is still warm.

- Read 20 minutes
