MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL KENELY
Dear Dolphin Families,
Thank you so much to everyone who came out on Thursday for our Parent Orientations! It was so wonderful connecting with you all. By now, you should have received the presentation slideshow directly from your child's teacher, which you can save and refer back to whenever you need a quick refresher throughout the year.
We are beyond excited to welcome back our little dolphins, and we truly can't wait to see all of their bright, smiling faces tomorrow night for Meet the Teacher from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.
Just a quick heads-up before you head over: parking at the school is pretty limited! If you live nearby, walking is definitely your best bet. Otherwise, feel free to park over at Creekwood Christian Church. See you all tomorrow evening!
Sincerely,
April D. Kenely

Get Ready to Rock the Pod!
Join us tomorrow for Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10, from 5:00–6:00 PM. Your child will have the opportunity to meet their teacher, visit their new classroom, and drop off school supplies. If you ordered a school supply pack, it will already be delivered to your child’s classroom.
We cannot wait to welcome our Dolphins back and begin a year of learning, growing, and Rocking the Pod together!
First Day of School
Due to Safety and Security, only Kindergarten Parents/ Guardian will be allowed to walk their students to class on the first day of school. After that, all students will report to the gym for morning arrival. We encourage all families to attend Meet the Teacher to ensure their child knows where their classroom is and who their new teacher will be. All students in grade 1-5 will walk in with staff support if needed.
To make the morning even more special, our amazing PTA is hosting “Seas the Day” just outside the building. There will be a photo opportunity for all families and a treat just for you as you send your little one off on their new adventure
Skyward Q
Lewisville ISD is transitioning to Skyward Q, the district’s new student information system. Beginning August 3, parents will be able to log in and complete their required back-to-school forms. Back to school forms include emergency contact information, technology agreements, and field trip permissions. These forms are required each year and must be completed for your child to attend class field trips.
Please review the handout below for step by step instructions.

School Supplies
If you purchased a school supply pack through EPI, these will be delivered to your child's classroom. If you did not purchase a supply pack, you can find the grade level supply lists using the button below.
Free and Reduced Lunch
The 2026–27 Free & Reduced Meal Application is now open! If your family may qualify, be sure to apply online as soon as possible. Even if you qualified last year, a new application is required each school year.
Please complete your application by September 23 to avoid any interruption in benefits.
Visit the LISD Free & Reduced Meals webpage for more information.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Morning Arrival
7:15 - School Doors Open!
Student safety is always our number one priority, so we have a very structured arrival and dismissal at Donald. Our students who walk or ride their bikes to school will always enter and exit the building through the main entrance. Students who ride the yellow school bus or daycare bus will enter and exit the building through the cafeteria doors.
Staff is always monitoring campus entrances, the front crosswalk, and the carline during arrival and dismissal to make sure our students remain safe.
No Parking to Walk student In
To help us keep all students safe, families may not park in the staff parking lot and walk students into school or walk onto campus to pick them up in the afternoon.
If your child is designated as a walker, you may not drive to campus, park, and walk to the arrival or dismissal area. Families who drive must use the carpool line for both arrival and dismissal.
The staff parking lot is reserved only for:
Buses
Daycare vans
Reserved parking auction winners
Families with pink car tags
Pink car tags are issued to students in our Communications Classroom and students who require additional assistance. Families with pink car tags must park in a designated parking space. Please do not drive into the fire lane where buses are located.
Parking near the dumpsters, in the fire lane, or in any undesignated space is prohibited and creates a serious safety concern.
Carpool Lane
All students in K-5 who arrive by car may be dropped off in the carpool lane at the back of the building.
Parents/Guardians should pull forward as far as possible before letting the student exit the vehicle.
A staff member and/or safety patrol student will assist your student with opening the car door.
If possible, please ensure that your student can exit the vehicle from the driver's side to prevent walking between cars.
When in car line loops, please drive slowly and avoid using technology/cell phones.
A staff member and/or safety patrol student will assist your student with opening the car door.
If your student needs assistance exiting the vehicle, please park in a designated parking area to assist your student instead of using the drop off loops.
Please remain in your vehicle at all times while in the drop off loops.
Entrance Options, Arrival Locations, and Breakfast
Students in grades K-2 who arrive prior to 7:35 will go to the cafeteria.
3rd-5th grade students will go to the gym
Students wanting to eat breakfast may eat in the cafeteria.
All students will go to the classrooms at 7:35.
Students who arrive after 7:40 and want to purchase a breakfast will take the food with them to the classroom.
As always, all visitors must enter through the front doors and check in at the front desk.
Students are expected to be in their classroom, unpacked, and ready to begin learning by 7:40AM!
Tardy slips are provided to students arriving on campus after 7:40 AM. For safety reasons, a parent must escort any tardy students into the building to receive a tardy slip.
Arrival and Dismissal Map
You can enter the carpool line coming from either direction on Forest Vista. Please show courtesy to your fellow parents by using the zipper method—alternating turns to turn into the main entrance!
Afternoon Dismissal
Students are dismissed at 3:05PM according to how they will be going home for the day:
- LISD Yellow Bus
- Daycare
- ESD
- Carline
- Walkers & Bikers
Please note that if your child is a walker you must not drive up and park! If you drive up to campus, your child will need to be picked up in the carpool line only.
Car Line
All students in K-5 who go home by car should be picked up using the car line.
Parents/Guardians should enter the car line and have the Car tag visible with the student’s number
A staff member will call the student to an assigned colored cone.
When arriving at the back of the school by the colored cones, pull forward as far as possible to the next available cone.
A staff member and/or safety patrol student will assist your student with opening the car door.
If possible, please ensure that your student can enter the vehicle from the driver's side to prevent walking between cars.
When in the car line, please drive slowly and avoid using technology/cell phones.
If passing another vehicle is necessary, a staff member will guide you in doing so safely.
Please remain in your vehicle at all times while in the car line.
Car Tags
Car Tags are REQUIRED for student pick-up in the carline!
All families will be issued 1 printed car tag at Meet The Teacher
If you need another Car tag contact the office
Car tag number must be prominently displayed on your rearview mirror prior to pulling in to the carline
Please drive slowly as you enter campus so the staff member on duty is able to see your number!
Want to go on Class Field Trips this year? Volunteer on campus?
If you are wanting to attend your child's field trips, help with events, or volunteer on campus you MUST have a VOLY background check complete. It is a very easy process and nice to get out of the way early before it's too late!
Lewisville ISD's VOLY site is open and ready to accept volunteers for the 2025-2026 school year. All volunteers on LISD campuses must have an approved background check on file. LISD uses LewisvilleISD.voly.org to post volunteer opportunities and to process background checks. Please go to the site and either create an account or update your account from a previous year. VOLY also has an app! You can find it in the app store for either Apple or Android products. Be sure to select that you want to work with Lewisville ISD. We look forward to having you on campus as a volunteer soon!
Visitor Check-In
FRONT DOORBELL
Per district policy all visitors to the school must ring the doorbell and present their driver's license/proper identification to the camera before being granted access to the building. Without proper identification, we will not be allowed to enter. Thanks for understanding and prioritizing the safety of our students and staff.
