DWS Pumpkin 5K Pre/Post Run JOG-A-THON
A big thank you to all our DWS students, families, parent volunteers, and generous sponsors for supporting our Pumpkin 5K Pre/Post Run Jog-a-Thon! We loved seeing our students get moving, have fun, and get excited for race day. We are especially grateful to our sponsors for their generous donations to support our fundraising efforts and the DWS school community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success! 🧡
Grade 1 Tools & Work
Our first graders are continuing to learn all about tools and how they help make work easier! This week, Mrs. Dacey visited Mrs. Bertulli’s class to share some of the tools she uses in her profession that help make work easier! Thank you Mrs.Dacey!
Mrs. Dacey brought her baking tools into the classroom and gave Mrs. Bertulli's class a hands-on look at how each tool is used to create delicious treats! Students explored the tools, learned about their purpose, and made connections between everyday experiences and new vocabulary. What a fun and engaging way to bring learning to life!
💀 Creepy Crayons in Mrs. Walsh's Class 💀
Inspired by the story, Creepy Crayon! by Aaron Reynolds, students in Mrs. Walsh’s class designed their own unique creepy crayons, complete with expressive eyes, eyebrows, and mouths. They then gave their creations names and wrote descriptions highlighting each crayon’s personality, favorite school subjects, likes, and dislikes. This fun, literacy-rich activity encouraged students to express their creativity while strengthening their writing and descriptive language skills. The class had a spooktacular time bringing their creepy crayon characters to life!
