Music with Mr. Rockenbach

Music class will continue to be held every Friday for all of our TK-5th grade students. In order to make attending Music smoother, Mr. Rockenbach has decided to use Google Meet.

How to log in with Google Meet:

- On Fridays, at your student's time for music, please navigate to meet.google.com

- Once there, enter the code/nickname: cismusic

- Click Join

Mr. Rockenbach will let everyone into the Google Meet to participate. If you run into any trouble, please reach out to our music teacher Mr. Rockenbach (rockenbach.dylan@pusd.us).

If you haven't done so already, please stop by to pick up your student's Art and Music supplies in our Main Office.

CIS Elementary

Course Description

• This course is designed for students with various levels of proficiency in music. We will be discussing music theory as well as going over different types of music technology and styles of music.
• Students will be expected to demonstrate their understanding through the completion of individual assignments, using appropriate musical language, and proficient knowledge of fundamental music theory.
• Classes will be taking place Friday via Webex (Canvas Course Coming)

Course Objectives

• Students will be learning basic rhythm, melody, and music theory via Quaver music.
• Students will also be introduced to many different styles and genres of music.
• Students will get a beginning understanding of simple music technology.

Grade Criteria

• Participation (Class Engagement & Materials) 50%
• Assignments 50%

Classroom Expectations

• Respect for oneself, one’s classmates, one’s classroom environment, and one’s teacher is imperative to our success as a class. Students must strive to express a respectful demeanor.
• Students must attend class on time and be prepared.
• There will be asynchronous days TBD by the teacher, but there will be advanced notice one week before the asynchronous date.
