Family Edition
September - 2026
Note from Mr. Moore:
Dear North Side Families,
As we settle into the new school year, I want to take a moment to point out what makes our school so special.
The culture and climate we have at our school simply would not be where it is without our incredible community: our faculty and staff, students, families, and community partners. Thank you for showing up, supporting our students, and helping make our school a place where kids can thrive.
A special thank you to our families for your continued support with reading at home! In just the first month of school, our students have increased their reading by well over 1,000%. Yes, you read that correctly! What an incredible way to start the year!
I’m also excited to announce that we are launching our Jr Navigator Reading Program this month! Please scroll down to find more information and to fill out a quick form to make sure we don't miss any of our our younger siblings.
In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, let’s all remember that people matter. You matter, we matter, and most of all our children matter. We are proud of where we are, excited about where we’re going, and committed to continuing to growth, together. Let’s keep building relationships, supporting one another, and growing together as a community.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. NS PRIDE!

Jr. Navigator Reading Program
We are thrilled to launch our new Jr. Navigators Reading Program, designed to foster a love of reading from the very start! Beginning next week, we will start sending books home with our current students for their younger siblings, ages birth to 5. Our Jr. Navigators will be not just be sent books during the year, these books will be hand delivered by their older siblings.
Our team has been hard at work compiling a list of younger siblings in our school community, but we want to make sure we don't miss anyone! If you have a child at home aged 0–5 who is not yet in school, please take a moment to complete this form, so we can get their first book ready to set sail.

Growing, Learning, and Setting Goals!
We are off to a great start at North Side! Our students have been learning classroom routines, getting to know each other, and working hard each day. It has been wonderful to see them settling into the school year.
In our guidance lessons, we have been learning about goal setting, growth mindset, and perseverance. Students are learning that they may not be able to do everything yet, but with effort, practice, and perseverance, they can continue to grow. Ask your child about a goal they would like to work toward this year!
Healthy Habits for a Successful School Year
Healthy routines at home can make a big difference at school. Encourage your child to get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, stay active, and limit screen time. Consistent routines help children come to school ready to learn and make the most of their day.

PTA
This week students are bringing home a Bingo Board with a variety of things to do to support the school and stay updated with events. If your student fills out a row, they’ll win a special sticker (bring it to the Fall Festival or send it in to their teacher). And if they fill out the whole flyer, they get lunch with a teacher!
Please note: the Bingo says Barberitos Spirit Night is 9/15, but it’s actually 9/24! Sorry for any confusion - We’ll see you on 9/24!
