Thank You Hannaford Helps!

Thanks to the hard work, generosity and participation of our school community, our school raised $480 through the 2026 Hannaford Helps Schools program. These funds will help us continue creating a positive, thriving environment for every student. Your support has made a meaningful impact on our school and your involvement and encouragement truly make a difference for our students, teachers and staff. Thank you for your continued dedication to our school community!

Half Day School Lunch Option

The half lunch form for October 20th is available on both of the web pages. Families can locate the form at the top of the News & Information section. This is not a district wide half day, it is for LMHS only.

Please note the form will be available for responses until Tuesday October 20th 8:30am.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nadine Lorenzen.

Please Keep Gel-Filled Squishy Toys at Home

We need your help keeping our bus rides safe and comfortable. Several gel-filled squishy toys have burst on buses recently, creating significant messes and additional work for our drivers.

There are also safety concerns. Reports of skin irritation and injuries from leaking toys have prompted concern from consumer safety advocates. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises avoiding skin contact with filling from burst toys and warns that toys exposed to heat can cause serious burns.

Please keep squishy toys that contain gel or liquid and can break open at home. Please also remind your child to follow the driver’s directions and put items away when asked.

If your child uses a sensory tool as part of an individual support plan, please contact the school so we can work together to identify an appropriate option for the bus.

Thank you for helping keep our students safe and supporting our bus drivers.

Middle School Science Olympiad Team

Science Olympiad is a competitive science team for all kids who love science and building things! The students in our Science Olympiad club work together to compete in 23 different events in the Massachusetts Science Olympiad State competition on a Saturday in March. No experience necessary - just a willingness to work together as a team to build things and learn about science. Open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Students choose an event to work on throughout the year with a partner. Some examples of events are: build a balsa wood boomilever, build a bottle rocket with a parachute that carries a ping pong ball, build a car powered by a falling mass, build a Marble Roller Coaster study about astronomy, study about code breaking, study about anatomy, study about botany, etc.

Here are some important dates to kick off our season:
  • Parent Meeting: Tuesday, October 6th at 6:00 PM. Parents will learn how the club works, explore the events, and find out how they can help. We would love to see parents there, but if you cannot make it, no problem—it is completely optional.
  • First Club Meeting: Wednesday, October 14th at 2:30 PM in Room D135 (the Wednesday right after Columbus Day weekend).

Here are some photos from last year's meetings and competition. link Email Mrs. Clarke at: eclarke@lunenburgschools.net with any questions.
