Cohasset High School Newsletter
News and Happenings at Cohasset High School
March 20, 2026
Dear Families,
Apologies for the delay in the newsletter. We have a busy week coming up. Specifically:
- Grade 10 ELA MCAS will take place on Tuesday, March 24th and Wednesday March 25th. While the test is no longer a graduation requirement, it is still required that all students take the exam by law. The results are used to determine the school's accountability rating, which can affect merit aid given by colleges so it's important that students do their best.
- Grade 8 Curriculum Night for parents will be held at 6:00 on Tuesday March 24th at 6:00 in the CMHS Learning Commons.
- All School Chorus is Tuesday, March 24th at 7:00 in the CHS gym.
- All School Band is Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00 in the CHS gym.
- The final budget presentation and vote will be held at School Committee on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:00 in the CMHS Learning Commons.
- Credit for Life is Friday, March 27th for seniors.
- Spring sports is about to begin the regular season. Good luck to all of our teams heading into spring!
- We will be making a determination on finals likely before the next newsletter. Needless to say, students should plan on attending until June 25th.
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
Brian T. Scott
Principal

Curriculum Night
Dear Parents and Guardians of Rising 9th Graders,
You are warmly invited to attend the CHS Curriculum Night on Tuesday, March 24th at 6:00 PM in the CMHS Learning Commons.
This evening is designed specifically for parents and guardians. Students will receive the same information during course selection assemblies held during the school day. During Curriculum Night, our guidance counselors and department heads will introduce themselves, provide an overview of the high school schedule, and share important considerations to help you support your student as they build their schedule for next year.
If you are planning to attend the All School Chorus Concert, please note that it will begin at 7:00 PM, immediately following Curriculum Night.
We look forward to welcoming you and partnering together for a successful start to high school!
Turning Data into Action
Tuesday March 24th, 2026
3:00pm - 4:00pm ET
In a world filled with information, the challenge isn’t finding data, it’s making sense of it. For educators and caring adults, the stakes couldn’t be higher: building youth resilience depends on our ability to distinguish between "just another metric" and information that actually changes lives.
We call this "Living Data." It’s dynamic, it’s relevant, and it’s the key to continuous improvement.
Join PEAR, Cohasset High School, and Youth Guidance for a candid, high-impact conversation on how to transform data from numbers on a page into a roadmap for student success.
We'll discuss:
- The barriers to collecting Living Data
- How systems for data collection and review can center those who need information the most
- What strategies can we use to arrive at insights from data
