Shout out to our incredible student body for showing up and bringing the energy at last week’s pep rally! The sophomore class proudly claimed the Spirit Stick, but the seniors are already gearing up to win it back next time. Our dance team delivered a fantastic performance, the band kept the energy high, and our cheerleaders brought the spirit all the way through. Kudos to Student Council for leading yet another successful pep rally!

Staff Spotlight
We’re excited to celebrate a few of our teachers who received spotlights this week! Check out a quick snippet from each one, shown left to right below.
Mrs. Lewis - "...he encouragement she provides to them is outstanding. She has been a positive influence in my son’s life since Middle School at East End and has continued to be a positive influence on him as they moved to SHS..."
Coach Abaza - "...we had the best TWO hour conversation last night stemming from what they are learning and discussing in this class. As a mom of a teenager, you can understand why a TWO hour conversation about something school related is a big deal..."
Mrs. Clements - "...She always finds a way to acknowledge student success in and out of the classroom.."
Mrs. Pemberton - "...has been so helpful in supporting my daughter’s transition to high school and making sure she has the right accommodations.."
Mr. Moffett - "...Shout out to Mr. Moffett for making learning fun!"
Now’s your chance to celebrate them! Share a shout-out for an outstanding staff member, and we’ll feature them in the Spotlight. Let’s recognize the incredible people who make SHS such a special place!
College and Career Readiness
On September 19, we celebrate students nationwide as they take an important step toward their future: applying to college. #WhyApply Day is about encouragement and inspiration. Whether a student is applying to a two-year or four-year school, every application represents a step toward opportunity and growth. Join us and American College Application Campaign by putting on your college gear, taking a photo, and posting your reason for applying to college or why you believe today’s students should.
Use the hashtag #WhyApply so students everywhere can see that their communities support them as they begin this important journey.
