Truth & Grace Ministries Newsletter
Weekly Updates for October 26th - November 1st
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
It is the Best Honor to Serve the Lord and His Church!
What a huge surprise I had yesterday (10/25/2026) when I opened the card presented to me at the Fellowship Luncheon for Pastor's Appreciation! I was blown away by the amount of money that was donated to my family and I. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this incredible support! As I shared yesterday, it is an absolute honor to serve as your pastor. I love God, I love His Word, and I love you all! I recognize I fall short in many areas, make many mistakes, and don't always take the best approach with certain things, but I have no doubt that I have answered God's call for my life by serving in this role until I can NO LONGER do so. I owe the Lord and you my best every single day! God bless each of you and thank you so so so so much again for the love! May the Lord continue to bless our wonderful church!

Thank You for Making Trunk or Treat So Special!
Thanks to all for decorating your trunks and handing out treats for our children's church. All of the decorations were wonderful. Because of your time, creativity, and incredible generosity, the kids had a truly wonderful day. It was such a joy to watch the kids as they moved from car to car. Their happy smiles makes me happy. :) Thank you for being such a vital part of our children's church and for giving our kids a morning they will remember!
This Past Sunday's Sermon (10/25/2026)
Below are Some Key Points from Brother Bill's Sermon:
- A "parable" is "a story about truth."
- The 5 wise virgins filled their lamps with oil and when the groom came unexpectedly, they were invited into the wedding feast. This represents those who DO put their faith in Christ WILL enter the kingdom of heaven.
- The 5 foolish virgins did not fill their lamps with oil and asked the 5 wise virgins for more oil. When they went to buy more, the groom came unexpectedly and they missed out on the wedding feast. This represents those who DO NOT put their faith in Christ WILL NOT enter the kingdom of heaven.
- We NEVER want to hear the words, "I never knew you," from our Lord Jesus Christ.
- So, we MUST "Be Ready" because we do not know the hour of our Lord's return.
This Past Sunday's Attendance (10/25/2026)

Financial Help for Amanda Hansen & Family
Many of you know my friend, Amanda Hansen, and her granddaughter Harley who attends Truth and Grace. The past 9 weeks of Amanda's life has been turned upside down. Amanda and her family are in need of some financial help. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Amanda had to fly to St. Jude’s hospital, in Memphis Tennessee, where her nephew, LeRoy was being treated for a brain tumor. She had been out a few times to help her sister Kristin and to give her sister some down time. But this time was very different she got a phone call from St. Jude's saying that her sister, Kristin had committed suicide and someone needed to get there as fast as they could to be with LeRoy and his little sister who was 6 months old, Emily. By the time Amanda got there CPS had taken Emily and LeRoy had been taken care of by the hospital. LeRoy only had 2 more months until his treatments were finished and hopfully he'd get to go home. So, for the next 2 months Amanda stayed there to help with LeRoy and was able to get CPS to give Emily back to them. LeRoy and Emily's Dad did show up once he heard that Kristin had passed away but wasn't much help and relied on Amanda for everything. By Amanda committing to staying there for those 9 weeks, it meant she wouldn't have any income coming in to take care of her own family which caused her to get behind on her rent and bills. Amanda just got back 10 days ago and is back working but 2 months with no income is hard to recover from without some help. Amanda felt like God called her to be there for her LeRoy and Emily which was the other reason she stayed. Thankfully, LeRoy got to ring the cancer free bell and is doing pretty well. With all that said, I'm reaching out to you guys and asking for your help on behalf of Amanda, Rebekah and Harley, just like she was there for her sister's family when no one else could be. I'm hoping we can be here for her in her time of need. Please consider giving. Thanks so much!
PS. Pastor Scott told me if you want to give there are envelopes at the church that you can put your check or cash in and just mark on the envelope saying it's for Amanda. This way the Church can write Amanda a check and it can be a tax write off as well.
Thanks Again for Considering,
Angie Barker
Cards for Macie and Hulse Family
As most of you know, Macie Hulse is currently still in a hospital located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina as she recovers from her eating disorder. She is improving by the day physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually! She has been able to connect with my wife, Amy, for the past couple of Saturdays by phone which has been encouraging for both Macie and Amy. But, we also wanted to extend the invitation to the congregation for anyone who might be interested in sending a "Thinking of You" or "We Miss You" card to the Hulse's home address to be delivered to Macie and the family. Ted is home during the week and travels to the hospital on the weekends so we invite you to send any cards to their home address and Ted will deliver them to Macie and Miranda when he travels down to stay with them on the weekends. The address is BELOW:
- Home Address: 11053 Hisers Lane in Broadway, VA 22815
Thank you so much for considering this kind gesture as a way to let Macie and the Hulse Family know we miss them, are thinking about them, and that God has got them!
Meals for Pacheco-Ayala Family
ONLY 3 MORE SPOTS LEFT!
Just a friendly reminder that the Pacheco-Ayala Family (Al, Megan, Elias, Isaac, Ezra) could use your love and support by providing them with a meal since welcoming Baby Ezra into the world last weekend. Below is the link to their Take Them a Meal Website. If you are able to, we encourage you to pick a day and sign up to bring them a meal. I know they would appreciate it! Blessings!
Please deliver meals between 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm. When providing the meal please do not include any of the following items or ingredients please. No seafood (including Tuna) and/or mushrooms. At this time they are keeping visitors to a minimum, so please leave the meal in the cooler on the porch. You can text Megan to let her know you have dropped it off. Please package meals in disposable containers so Megan doesn't have to worry about getting dishes back please. We appreciate you and your support!
Flowers for the Knick Family!
- One of our church members, Mrs. Anita Cline, graciously put together and donated a beautiful flower arrangement to the Knick Family who just lost their daughter, Kaylie, a couple days ago. If any of you would be interested in donating any money back to Anita to offset the cost of the flowers, that would be terrific! As you know, flowers are very expensive so providing some money in return is always welcomed! You can bring the money to the service THIS COMING Sunday, November 1st. Thanks for considering!

The Art of Marriage Workshop Videos
Brother Ken West, pastor at Cornerstone Church of Broadway, was gracious enough to share the link to all 6 episodes to the Art of Marriage Workshop they hosted THESE PAST TWO SATURDAYS, Saturday, October 17th (Part 1) and Saturday, October 24th (Part 2). Each episode is about 20-30 minutes each. We encourage you and your spouse to take time to watch them together as we all strive to strengthen our marriages.
Get Out and Vote!
As many of you know, Election Day is rapidly approaching. Brother Tony Wilt has graciously agreed to share some details regarding this year's amendments with our church congregation the next couple of Sundays. In the meantime, the following WEBSITE BELOW provides a clear and accurate explanation of the 3 Amendments to the Virginia Constitution being voted on this year. It is important that us, as Christians, stand up for biblical values and standards even in the political realm. Two of the amendments specifically touch on the topics of abortion and same-sex marriage. It is important to let our voices be heard and to stand firm in the truth of God's Word.
