📢 New Digital Hall Pass System at SHS
This year, Shorewood High School is introducing a Digital Hall Pass System to support student accountability, safety, and efficiency.
What is it?
Instead of a paper hall pass, students will now use a classroom Chromebook kiosk to check in and out when leaving the room. Any staff member can see in real time which students have permission to be out of class and where they are going.
Why this change?
Staff can easily see where students are during the day.
Reduces interruptions and encourages responsible use of passes.
Provides accurate data to support safety and learning.
Parents/guardians can monitor how many passes their child uses and how long they are out of class.
What families should know:
Students must still ask their teacher before leaving class.
Passes should be used only when necessary.
Students with IEPs, health plans, or other documented needs will continue to be supported.
NEW This Year: Free Periods on Student Schedules
Starting September 4th, families will notice a minor change in how student schedules are displayed in Infinite Campus.
In the past, a student’s free period appeared as “No Class Scheduled.”
Beginning this school year, it will now display as “FREE PERIOD.”
This update is simply a label change to make schedules clearer and more consistent.
Students may continue to use their free period as they always have. This means they may remain on campus (for study, clubs, or other activities) or leave campus if they choose.
Reminder: Students are responsible for managing their time appropriately and must return on time for their next scheduled class.
YEARBOOK - COPPERDOME
Have you ordered your issue of the Copperdome (yearbook) yet? Are you a Senior and not sure how to get your Senior photo into the yearbook? Our Copperdome staff has all of that information in this document for your reference. Should you have any questions, please send an email to SHS Yearbook at yearbook@shorewood.k12.wi.us.
