Message from the Executive Director
I would like to thank everyone who attended GLOBE’s HOOTenanny Live Auction on Saturday, March 21, at Napoleon's in Decatur, and also those who bid in the online Silent Auction. The event raised over $73,000 for PTCC programming. Our Parent Teacher Community Council (PTCC) and volunteers organized and ran such a fun and successful event, and I would like to convey my sincere thanks.
Georgia Milestones testing will be taking place beginning April 23 for grades 3 through 8. Georgia Milestones is designed to provide students with critical information about their own achievement and readiness for their next level of learning. Please refer to the campus notes below for further details.
As we approach spring break, I would like to remind our GLOBE community that this coming Friday, April 3, is a normal school day. We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus on Monday, April 13.
Have a fabulous spring break!
In Community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

Campus notes
Last chance to dress-down on Thursday
Tomorrow, April 2, will be the final Dress-down Thursday as we raise funds to support the annual 8th grade trip to Savannah in May. Bring $1 to dress down (out of uniform) on Thursday. Please adhere to DeKalb County dress code rules. Parent volunteers will be collecting money at the school entrances of both campuses. Please make every effort to bring the exact change. Thank you for your support.
Last chance to check Lost and Found
Any items remaining in Lost and Found to be donated on April 2
The Lost and Found at Lower and Upper Campus will be donated on Thursday, April 2. Please come into campus to check the Lost and Found ASAP, or have your child check before this date. Thank you.
Georgia Milestones begin on Thursday, April 23
Georgia law requires that all students in grades 3–8 take the Georgia Milestones: End of Grade (EOG) in the content areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. In addition, students in grade 5 will take Science, and students in grade 8 will take Science and Social Studies.
It is imperative that students attend school each day and arrive on time so they will not miss any sections of this important assessment. The schedule for the administration of the EOG in the DeKalb County School District is listed below. Click here for GA Milestones resources for students and parents.
Lower Campus
Morning Arrival on return from Spring Break
Beginning on Monday, April 13, the carpool line will end right at 8am. To prepare, please begin arriving on campus at or before 7:45am so that you have plenty of time to drop off your child before instruction begins right at 8am. All cars entering the lot after 8am will need to park and come into the Community building to sign in their child. As you can see from this short video clip, the carpool is VERY quiet between 7:30am and 7:45am.
LC GLOBE Arts Night - Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Enjoy an evening of artwork created by all students at Lower Campus and a special musical performance by 4th grade students. Food will be available for purchase, so bring your family and enjoy an evening celebrating the arts with the GLOBE community!
Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer to help prepare artwork, organize, or set up, please send an email to mcottrell@theglobeacademy.net. Thank you.
LC Library End-of-Year Reminder
The final day for student book checkout will be Thursday, April 30. As we begin preparing for end‑of‑year inventory, we ask that all library books be returned by Friday, May 22. Per the Library Contract signed at the beginning of the year, any books not returned must be either paid for or replaced. Returning books on time helps us keep our collection complete and ready for next year’s readers.Thank you for supporting our library and helping students build responsible borrowing habits. Please reach out to Ms. Stowe with any questions.
Upper Campus
Francophonie celebration recording
A recording of this year's performance can be viewed here.
Upper Campus Clinic
The UC clinic is in need of very gently used or never worn GLOBE uniform clothing. Please make sure clothing is washed thoroughly before donating.
Seasonal allergies: Last week was very uncomfortable for many of our students who suffer from seasonal allergies. Families, please make sure your students take allergy medication at night and in the morning to get them through the school day (including eye drops, eye wash if necessary). Allergy medication taken in the morning before school should be non-drowsy.
