To Our District 67 and 115 School Community,

As we seek to innovate and evolve as educators while preparing our students for the world that awaits them, it is my pleasure to introduce LET’S TALK: AI, a three-part discussion series designed to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on various aspects of our lives.

The first program, focusing on AI and education, is scheduled for February 20 at 7:00 pm in the John & Nancy Hughes Theater at the Gorton Center (400 East Illinois Road). Lake Forest College President Dr. Jill Baren and Lake Forest College Professor of English Dr. Davis Schneiderman will join me to discuss the integration of AI in classrooms, its potential to personalize student learning experiences, and the ethical considerations surrounding AI and the future of education.

On March 7, Fast Company writer and LFHS 2002 alumna Ainsley (O’Connell) Harris will join me in moderating a conversation with business leaders regarding AI and the future of work. Later this spring, we will wrap up the series with a discussion on what all of this means for our community.

I hope you’ll mark your calendars and join us as we share perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities and possibilities of AI in our lives. As a community of lifelong learners, we are at our best when we join together to explore new ideas.

With this in mind, LET’S TALK AI!

Warm regards,

Sincerely,

“Barefoot in the Park” at Lake Forest High School

February 1-3, 7:00 pm, in the Little Theater

Directed by Sara Dreiling; Technical Direction by Mary Toledano

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer, and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find - too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…
