Westmoor Weekly 11/7/2025
November 7, 2025
A Note from Principal Eck
Dear Westmoor Families,
Fall is in full bloom throughout our school—crisp air, colorful leaves, and a season of fresh learning. We’re “falling into” reading and math with renewed excitement, embracing new skills just as we embrace the changing colors around us. It’s a wonderful time to grow, explore, and appreciate the beauty of the season together.
Next week, our students will participate in their monthly pack meetings on the 12th. Please remember to wear your tie-dye T-shirts to show our school spirit. In addition, we’ll be celebrating World Kindness Day on Thursday, November 13th. We encourage all students to wear Westmoor blue in support of kindness and positivity.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Work for what you want
Don't wish for it. Work for it!
Bulldog Pack Meeting - WEDNESDAY
We have our bulldog pack meeting this Wednesday. Please have your student wear their tie-dye shirt!
Lost and Found
The lost and found is quickly filling up and we just cleared it out after conferences in mid-October. PLEASE make sure your students name is on their jackets, hats, sweatshirts! They may be cold in the classroom and then get hot in PE or it is cold in the morning and warmer in the afternoon, so jackets & sweatshirts go on and off frequently.
Share a picture with us!
We’re excited to showcase the special moments and achievements of our students and their families. Whether it’s a holiday, cultural tradition, a child’s milestone like riding a bike without training wheels, a big win at a soccer game, welcoming a new pet, or anything else that makes you proud — we’d love to feature it! Here is the link to share a photo and brief description.

GBN Winter Play: Peter and the Starcatcher
GBN invites District 28 families to its winter play, Peter and the Starcatcher, playing Nov. 13-15 at the Sheely Center for the Performing Arts. Peter and the Starcatcher is a comedic and fantastical play that serves as a prequel to Peter Pan, explaining how the orphan boy became Peter Pan and how Captain Hook became his nemesis. The story follows the boy and a girl named Molly as they embark on an adventure involving magical starstuff, pirates, and a faraway island. Reviews praise the show's imaginative humor, energy, and creative storytelling. Appropriate for all ages. Click here to purchase tickets!
Rotary of Northbrook Coat Drive
The temperatures are dropping, and it’s warm coat weather. For more than a decade, the Rotary of Northbrook has been helping our communities stay warm during the winter with its annual "Coat Off Your Back" collection drive. The coat drive will provide winter coats for infants, children, teens, and adults via multiple outlets serving people in need, from the homeless to veterans, displaced families, and the elderly. You can drop off your donation at the donation bin located at the front of our school.
