Important Information

Year-end IRIP Completion

While there will be changes to IRIP benchmarks for the 2026-27 school year, please use the following as a guideline for completing IRIPs at the end of this school year.

1. For anyone who had an IRIP in January/March, you will need to fill out the data in the 3rd IRIP section (May -September). It gets a little tricky because we don't technically do intervention in July & August, so if the student is currently in intervention (they have an IRIP), you can continue that intervention. Please delete the additional drop down boxes and make the following comment: I am so proud of ___________ growth this year. Please continue to practice reading over the summer. We will reevaluate his/her reading in the fall.

2. We usually send the final IRIP home in the report card and do not get a signature. The practice is the same this year.

3. Make an additional copy on goldenrod/yellow paper to put in the CA-60. The CA-60 also needs a sticker on the special help card, with the IRIP dates circled.

Ordering for 2026/27

Please see the Central Supply Memo. Orders for the 2026/27 school year may be placed beginning June 15th.

Read to a Million - GISD’s Read to a Million challenge begins June 1. Bookmarks with the QR code and website will be delivered to each building sometime this week. Please encourage your students to participate by helping them get started and tracking their in-class reading in June.

Save the Date - End-of-Year Staff Luncheon

The District’s annual End of the Year Staff Recognition Luncheon will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, in the Hahn Intermediate cafeteria. We will once again recognize our Teachers and Support Person of the Year, 25-year veterans, DEF mini-grant winners, and retirees.

Curriculum Meetings Curriculum Meetings

Math Meeting

From Julie Crockett:

There will be a math meeting on June 1 from 4:15 to 6:15 in the Hahn Media Center. This date is different from what I originally shared because a few schools had conflicts with the original June 2 date.

During the meeting, we will:

  • Finalize the priority standards list
  • Draft possible report card descriptors
  • Review edits to the common assessments

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. It would be great to have at least one representative from each team there. This meeting will be for additional PD.

Thanks!

Julie Crockett

Field Days! Field Days!

Please take a look at the schedule changes for the week with Field Days. The schedule is also available on the Field Day Schedule Sheet. Please let me or Jenni know if you have any questions.

This email was sent to parents last week. Feel free to share the day before your Field Day.

Your child’s much-anticipated Field Day is coming up next week, and we are excited for a fun-filled day of games, movement, and memories! To help make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, please review the reminders below:

  • Please send your child dressed in comfortable athletic clothing and gym shoes. For safety, please avoid Crocs, sandals, boots, and UGG-style slippers.

  • Send a change of clothes, a towel, and a bag for wet or dirty clothing.

  • If you would like your child to wear sunscreen, please apply it before school. Staff will not be able to apply sunscreen during the day.

  • Please send your child with a water bottle that can travel with them between Field Day stations. If the bottle is reusable, we recommend labeling it with your child’s name.

  • Help your child prepare for a great day by encouraging healthy meals and plenty of hydration the day before and the morning of Field Day.

Thank you for helping us make Field Day a memorable experience for our students. We can’t wait to celebrate with them!
