Everything in the Middle School that MATTERS
3, December, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Good Evening, Middle School Families
It is hard to believe that we’ve already turned the calendar to December. We have a lot going on this month. Our concert season is well underway. Please check the calendar below to see all the music concert schedules this month. Students have been working hard and they are excited to showcase their hard work and talent.
This Wednesday will mark the midpoint of the second quarter. Middle school teachers will have all of their grade books updated that afternoon. We will send out an email on Wednesday with a link to the Infinite Campus gradebook. Please don’t hesitate to call if you would like to visit with teachers, or set up a meeting time to discuss progress or concerns.
As the calendar turns to December, we also need to be prepared for winter weather and the circumstances that we may need to go to an “At Home Digital Learning” model. Please check out our at-home digital learning details below.

Click here for registration details and to get the sign-up sheet. Only students who complete the sign-up sheet and have parent/guardian signature are able to attend. STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
MMS ATTENDANCE GOAL
Our goal for the middle school is to achieve a 90% attendance rate consistently throughout the academic year.
We are incredibly proud of our students and families for making attendance a priority. Let's keep it up!
- November Attendance: 93.38%
- October Attendance: 94.63%
- September Attendance: 95.41%
ONLINE ATTENDANCE OR ATTENDANCE LINE
If your student will be late or absent, families can notify the school in two ways:
online attendance (through Parent/Guardian Portal)
call the Attendance Line at 763-272-2110
If your student needs to leave early, families can notify the school in three ways:
online attendance (through Parent/Guardian Portal)
call the attendance line
send a note with your student to the Student Center
Prior notice (minimum of one hour) expedites the process, avoids interruptions into classrooms to have students dismissed, and eliminates difficulty reaching students during phy-ed, music, lunch, and special events.
NOTES FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
Medication Policy Reminder:
If it is necessary for your child to be on medication during school hours:
Prescription medications must be in the correct pharmacy-labeled container and non-expired container. Written authorization must be given by the prescribing physician and parent authorization. Medication will be kept in the health office.
Over-the-counter medications can be given if supplied by the parent and with parental authorization. The over-the-counter medication will be administered according to parental authorization but must not exceed the dosing per packaging instructions. A physician order is needed to administer an over-the-counter medication beyond the recommended dosage. Medication will be kept in the health office.
New medication consent forms (with physician and parental authorization) must be received annually with the start of each school year.
If your child has an inhaler or EpiPen, your child may self carry these but we still need written physician and parent authorizations. Please provide the health office an updated Asthma Action Plan and/or Allergy Action Plan at the start of each school year.
If you have any questions regarding any of this information, feel free to call the health office.
