OCHS Principal's Update

Our Knights have worked hard this semester! As we kick off December, we have three fun-filled weeks of classes, school activities, and family and community plans. Recognizing that the season is short, and the last few weeks are full of evening and weekend school activities, we are making the shift in our semester test schedule to a three-day schedule. Students will have four test/project sessions on Wednesday, December 17th, four test/project sessions on Thursday, December 18th, and students will meet with their House and each of their classes on Friday to address any questions or items needing to be completed for the end of the semester. Once tests are complete on the 19th, and projects are finalized, students will be able to engage in some fun activities organized by Student Council. Students with any missing homework or assessments will be required to go to student work rooms during this time to complete missing work. Furthermore, all teachers have been asked to have their second quarter grades updated by Tuesday morning, December 16th. Hopefully, this allows students to ask any questions or work through any conflicts before grades are finalized and report cards are sent home over Christmas break.

As the vaping epidemic continues to influence and impact our young people, I would like parents to watch the video below to learn more about how vaping negatively affects youth who participate.. After watching, I encourage you to have a discussion with your child about the dangers of vaping.
