Kimberlin Academy Lockdown Drill - January 24 at 9:15 am
Multicultural Night Success!
Our first Multicultural Night was nothing short of magical - a beautiful celebration of the rich diversity that makes our school community so special. Watching our students share their cultures with pride, families connect over shared traditions, and children cheer for one another filled my heart with joy and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable evening possible—you’ve shown the true power of unity in diversity!
An extra large shout out to Kayley Bartosch for being the mastermind behind it all and to Meleka Simon for coordinating and organizing our many beautiful performances!!
CHOICE OF SCHOOL IS HERE!
No action is necessary if your child will remain on their current campus.
Please read through ALL of the information on this site to make sure you do not miss any important steps, as the process has changed if you are choosing to apply for a magnet or go to a different campus next year.
What if I like my current campus?
That's great! You do not need to submit a Choice of School form.
Only students who wish to change their campus, are new to GISD or are entering kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades must make selections. Current students have the right to remain at their campuses.
What about 5th Grade CURRENT MAGNET Students?
You will STILL need to complete a Choice of School form to select up to six schools/magnet programs. If you wish for your student to continue in the Academy for Excellence Magnet in middle school. You will need to select that program as your first choice!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
In spite of a cold and snowy start to our new semester, we are warming hearts with our continued journey through the 7 Mindsets. This social and emotional learning is shared in all classrooms daily. We have jumped into our next unit called “100% Accountable”. Please read on to learn about this mindset, as well as ways you can support your student from home.

LUNCH VISITOR POLICY
Beginning January 2025, we will be able to accommodate six families per grade level for lunch visits. To ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all families, each family may sign up for one visit per month. Additionally, we ask that no more than four visitors attend per student, which includes younger siblings.
Due to the limited number of slots available, it is essential that you inform the school office more than 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled visit. This will allow us to open up the spot for another family.
Lunch with Your Students - Spring 2025
Volunteers must complete a NEW application EVERY YEAR!
You MUST complete a volunteer application to join your student on Field Trips or volunteer for activities taking place during the school day. If you do not complete the application, you will be turned away from the event.
