Thanks for joining us this week at our DCSD Coffee and Conversations. It was wonderful to see so many current and future DCSD families!
At the meeting we shared renderings and answered lots of questions. In summary, our team got to work the minute the bond passed and we have finished schematic design and are well into architectural design. Even though you will not see activity at the site just yet, we will be busy over the next several months with approving final designs, building permits, and hiring a new principal for the school. If you'd like to be a part of the interview committee process, please email us for more information. We hope to officially break ground on the new school site in the winter of 2026!
If you weren't able to join us in person, we've built a dedicated page on our DCSD website for the new elementary school (Elementary School 51 until it's officially named), which will open for the 2027-2028 school year and will be designed to ultimately accommodate 750 students. This page has renderings (click the arrows to page through them) of the new elementary school, some frequently asked questions, and ways that you can get involved as things start to take shape. This is your neighborhood school, and we want your input and involvement!
