The last two weeks have been bouncing from one unique event to the next. The next day after the Officer's Councils ended we communicated final plans for the Parade of Champions. After that beautiful day we were blessed with Captains Kim on our Candidate's Sunday. On this Sunday, we specifically ask if anyone feels called to ministry, further ministry and even full time ministry as a Salvation Army Officer. We acknowledge that God is doing a work in all of these ways. We ask for your prayers for those who feel called for more and especially for the two who expressed the calling to full time officership. Pray for God's continued leading and His will.
The next weekend we welcomed the Keepers of the Covenant Brigade - made up of nine cadets and supported by Captain Travis Yardley and Captain Joy Groenleer. What a group of people on fire for the Lord! They began their journey at 7 am on Friday to drive eight hours from Rancho Palos Verdes, California to practice for worship and set up laser tag for the United Teen and Young Adult Fellowship and stayed until 9:00 PM. The delicious food was lovingly prepared by Captains Morrow from San Jose and everyone in attendance had a great time!!
Saturday morning, the brigade came back to lead a United Men and Women's Fellowship. It was another blessing filled with trivia, devotionals, prizes, encouragement, and great food. Showing that they were ready to work and bless Santa Clara in any way, the team scrubbed down the outdoor tables, organized the shed, decorated, trimmed the overhanging trees, then drove back to the camp and continued to set up for Sunday worship.
Sunday was a beautiful time of multi-cultural worship in scripture, prayers, and dance at beautiful Camp Redwood Glen. We thank the Cadet Brigade once again for sharing in scripture, praying, testimony, kids lesson, the message, and leading in worship. It was a blessing. Then another delicious lunch was served. Afterwards people enjoyed the camps grounds by going on hikes, creating crafts, and playing kickball.
There are many more events coming up and we are feeling a little apprehensive. But, I am reminded from the sunset pictured above - that God who created this beautiful earth and all in it - is concerned for the souls of this world. Whether or not we "fail or succeed" by the world's standard, we pray that we are faithful to the main mission - to see people coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
**Note - We are updating our volunteer files. We'll be asking current and new volunteers to complete the volunteer packet. We will also be giving you instructions on how to get additional fingerprinting (now required by law) for those who work with youth. You will not need to pay for anything. We will guide you on how to get this done.**

Although, they are committed, they are in their first few months of training away from the familiar. Would you help us, as a church to send off a Care Package to them? Trick or Treating at CANDY CORN WAY
We're inviting the community (including yourself) to come to our First Annual Trick or Treating at CANDY CORN WAY - Getting the community onto our property to know that we are here and bless them. For our first event we are asking for hosts to decorate, purchase candy for, and/or pass out candy at the doors of our property from 5 - 7 PM. We'll have a handful of lawn activities and music - nothing too overwhelming our first year. We pray to meet families and grow this event each year to come.
