Personalize Your Chromebooks...
Parents! Would your student like to personalize his/her school Chromebook? We heard students’ disappointment about not being able to add personal stickers on their new school-owned Chromebooks and found a way to allow for individuality and personalization! The mCover Hard Shell Case is available on Amazon in a variety of translucent colors and will easily snap onto your student’s Chromebook. Once in place students are welcome to decorate the top with school appropriate stickers of their choice. They will be asked to remove it before the end of the school year and can place it back on the following year.

Tardy Bell...
The tardy bell rings at 8:30 AM. Any student arriving after the tardy bell must be accompanied inside by a parent/guardian and signed in at the front office. Please do not drop students off at the door after 8:30 AM.
Thank you for helping us start each day on time and ready to LEAD!
Parent Drop-Off of Student Items...
To help protect instructional time, forgotten student items will not be accepted after 9:00 AM. Students will be notified when an item has been dropped off, but we cannot guarantee they will receive it immediately. Students may retrieve items from the front office during class transitions only and will not be called out of instruction to pick them up.
Thank you for helping us keep learning and LEADing the priority!
Afternoon Pick-Up...
For the safety and supervision of all students, any student who has not been picked up by 3:45 PM will be required to wait in the front office until their ride arrives.
Students who are walkers are expected to leave campus when the dismissal bell rings. Students may not remain on campus or hang out after dismissal unless they are participating in a supervised school activity.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and orderly!
7th Grade Immunization Requirements...
The deadline for required 7th grade immunizations is quickly approaching!
North Carolina requires all students entering 7th grade to have:
💉 1 dose of Tdap
💉 1 dose of Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY)
📅 Don't wait! Families have 30 calendar days from the first day of school to provide an updated immunization record. Students who do not have the required documentation on file after the deadline will not be permitted to attend school until the requirement is met.
If you have not already done so, please schedule an appointment with your child's healthcare provider or local health department and submit an updated immunization record to AG Cox as soon as possible.
💙💚 Help us keep our Raiders healthy, in school, and ready to LEAD!

Week of August 31, 2026
What an AWESOME First Week, Raiders!
What an incredible first week of school! Our Raiders have done a great job learning routines, meeting expectations, and getting back into the rhythm of school. Thank you to our families for your patience, support, and partnership as we kicked off the 2026–2027 school year. We are off to a great start and excited to keep the momentum going! Together, we will continue creating a school where every Raider is ready to LEAD — Learn. Empower. Achieve. Discover.
Updates from Mrs. Davenport...
As we head into another great week at AG Cox, here are a few important reminders to help keep our Raiders on track and ready to LEAD!
Tardy Procedures:
Beginning Monday, our regular tardy procedures will be in effect. The tardy bell rings at 8:30 AM. Students arriving after 8:30 must have a parent/guardian come inside to sign them in. Please plan accordingly so students arrive on time and are ready to learn.
Dismissal & Car Rider Reminder:
Dismissal begins at 3:30 PM. All car riders should be picked up no later than 3:45 PM.
Beginning at 3:45, any student who has not been picked up will be required to wait inside the building until their parent or guardian arrives. This procedure helps us ensure that all students remain safe and properly supervised during dismissal. Please make every effort to arrive on time to pick up your child. After 3:45, we have very few staff members remaining on campus to provide supervision as staff members have completed their workday and afternoon duties. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for all of our Raiders!
Elective Change Requests:
Elective change requests are now Closed. We received more than 150 requests and have been working diligently to review each one. Please remember that changes are based on space and availability and cannot be guaranteed. All approved changes will be reflected in Infinite Campus no later than Wednesday, September 2. Students should continue following their current schedule until a change appears in Infinite Campus.
Dress Code Reminders:
Students should come to school dressed and ready to learn. Our goal is not to “dress code” students over every little thing, but rather to maintain reasonable expectations that promote learning and LEADing. When students have to leave class or take time away from instruction to address or adjust their clothing, that is missed time for learning. This week, our administrative team spoke with all classes about school-appropriate dress and our expectations. We appreciate families partnering with us to help students arrive each day ready to learn, LEAD, and make the most of every minute!
Center for Safer Schools Required Videos:
The Center for Safer Schools has mandated grade-specific student safety videos. Grade-level emails will be sent to families today with additional information about the videos, including how they will be presented to students.
Please be sure to review the email carefully, as the parent permission process differs by grade level:
- 6th Grade: Parents must opt in for their student to participate.
- 7th & 8th Grades: Parents will have the opportunity to opt out if they do not want their student to participate.
Please watch for the grade-specific email today and complete the appropriate form based on the directions provided.
Raider Athletics & Student Behavior:
Raider Athletics are in full swing! Please talk with your child about appropriate behavior when attending athletic events. Foul language, horseplay, fighting, and disruptive behavior are not permitted. Students who engage in these behaviors may be asked to leave the event. Whether an athletic event is at AG Cox or away, our students are representing our school. We expect our Raiders to demonstrate LEAD behavior — Learn. Empower. Achieve. Discover. in the classroom, in the stands, and throughout our community.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to make AG Cox a great place to learn, grow, and LEAD!
Transportation Updates...
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as our bus drivers and students become familiar with their routes, stops, and pick-up/drop-off times. While we work hard to keep buses on schedule, delays can happen due to mechanical issues, substitute drivers, traffic, or other unexpected circumstances. Please also remember that we share buses with our elementary schools. If an elementary route is running behind, it will impact the bus’s arrival at AG Cox and may cause our afternoon route to run late as well. We know delays can be frustrating, and we appreciate your flexibility as our Transportation Department works to get every student home safely. Bus Transportation Requests: All requests should be submitted to Dr. Odeh at odehn@pitt.k12.nc.us and Ms. Prayer at prayerk@pitt.k12.nc.us. Please allow up to 10 school days for the Transportation Department to process a request and add a student to a bus route. For transportation questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Odeh. Track Your Student’s Bus: Families can use the EduLog Parent Portal app to view their student’s bus location and transportation information. Use the directions below to download the app and get started.
Counselor's Corner...
Exceptional Children's (EC) Department Updates...
If your student receives EC services, they may be pulled by an EC teacher during the first 10 days of school, even if they are not typically pulled from class. This allows our EC teachers to collect baseline data related to your student’s IEP goals and helps us better understand their starting point for the school year. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Plan Ahead, Raiders!
We know family time, vacations, and long weekends are important! As you make plans for the 2026–2027 school year, please use our Vacation Planner to take advantage of scheduled breaks, holidays, and teacher workdays.
Whenever possible, we encourage families to plan trips and vacations around the school calendar so students do not miss valuable instructional time. Every day matters, and missed days mean missed opportunities to Learn, Empower, Achieve, and Discover!
Save this calendar and plan ahead so your Raider can stay on track!
