Meet Mrs. Valdez

My name is April Valdez and I am one of the Moderate Needs Special Education Teachers at Sage Canyon! This is my 8th year at Sage Canyon, but my 27th year teaching. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Western New Mexico University, and my Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University. Prior to Douglas County Schools, I taught in Denver Public Schools, and with Hope Online in Denver and Aurora.

I grew up in northern New Mexico and moved to Colorado with my husband 28 years ago. We live in SE Aurora with our son and two little fur-girls. In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at our church.
