Musician of the Month

Hello there!

I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful weather! In March, we listened to my favorite musician - Joni Mitchell!

When Joni was growing up in Canada, she wanted to be a visual artist. She likes to call herself a "painter who writes songs." At 9 years old, Joni got polio, which weakened her left hand. To make playing guitar easier, she started to experiment with several alternate tunings. "Big Yellow Taxi" was written after a trip to Hawaii and has been recorded by over 500 musicians. She has written and performed folk, rock, pop, and even jazz music.

Below, you will find some videos that we have watched in music class. Enjoy!
