Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back for our first full week of the new academic year. Pupils have settled quickly into routines, and we have been really impressed with their positive attitudes to learning.

This Week This Week

EYFS New Starters

Our new EYFS pupils have had a fantastic start. They began the week with half-day sessions and transitioned to full days towards the end of the week. We are incredibly proud of how well they have settled in, and we thank parents for their support during this important time.

Year 1 & 2 Meet the Techer

On Thursday evening, we held our first ‘Meet the Teacher’ event, with strong attendance from families. Thank you to all parents and carers who joined us - it was a valuable opportunity to share information and make introductions at the start of the year.

Pupil Leadership

This week also saw the selection of our new pupil leadership groups! Year 6 pupils applied for and were awarded positions as Head Boy, Head Girl, prefects, sports leaders, and librarians, with pupils from Years 5 and 6 were given roles as lunch monitors. Successful pupils were awarded badges and celebrated in our Celebration Assembly. We were impressed by the maturity and enthusiasm shown by all who applied, and we are proud to have such responsible role models within UKS2.

In addition, pupils across the school prepared speeches for our Junior Leadership Team positions. The quality of the speeches was fantastic, with pupils clearly explaining why they would be the right person for the role. Elections will take place on Monday and this will involve the use of ballot boxes and voting stations provided by the Electoral Services to give children a real-life experience of being part of a democratic system.

Autumn Photography Competition

Today, we have also launched our Autumn Photo Competition. Pupils are invited to capture the best images of autumn around our local area. Entries will be displayed in a slideshow in our school entrance, with prizes for the best photograph in each phase and an overall winner. We are looking forward to seeing the creativity and talent on display! Deadline for entries is Friday, 24th October
