New Main Entrance and Updated Building Procedures
Description of the New Entrance: The main entrance now consists of two sets of doors: external and internal. During the school day (07:35 am - 02:30 pm), the external door on the far left will be the point of entry for individuals arriving to school. All of the inside doors will be locked throughout the school day. Students arriving late, parents, staff from other Parkway buildings, and all other guests are expected to check in with the administrative assistant using the new security window inside the new vestibule. Only individuals cleared to enter will be "buzzed in" and allowed to enter the main building. In additon, a package pass through was installed to reduce the number of outside guests entering the building.
Updated Procedures: Students and parents, please review the updated procedures below.
- The building will open to students at 07:00 am.
- In the morning, students are expected to enter through Door #1 - Main Entrance (student drivers and students being dropped off) or Door #40 - Back Athletic Entrance (bus riders).
- Breakfast is available from 07:00 am - 07:30 am.
- Classes begin at 07:35 am. Students are expected to be in their assigned room by 07:35 am. For the first few days of school, we will work with students as some adjust to a new building and all to a new schedule.
- The internal set of doors at the main entrance will be locked at 07:35 am. Students tardy to school will check in inside the new vestibule. Students will be issued an ehallpass, then report to class.
- All visitors, includng parents, are expected to enter through the main entrance and check in using the new security window inside the new vestibule.
- Visitors cleared to enter the main building are expected to wear their school issued visitor badge for the duration of their visit to PCH.
- Students dismissed during the school day (e.g. for an appointment with a parent) are expected to exit the building through the main entrance.
- During school hours (07:00 am - 02:30 am), deliveries for students from outside entities, including, but not limited to, food delivery services are not allowed. Parents may continue to drop off items for students (e.g. lunch), when necessary.
Again, thank you for your cooperation!
IMPORTANT: Free & Reduced Meal Program
FREE MEALS ENDED!
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Parkway has provided free meals for all students through the funding provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which has been extended multiple times by Congress. That funding has expired, which means that free meals will no longer be available to all Parkway students in the 2022-2023 school year. Families who submitted and were approved for free/reduced meals 21-22 School Year, will carry over that status for the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 School Year. All families are required to reapply starting July 2022 when the income guidelines change in order to be eligible for free/reduced meals throughout the whole school year of 2022-2023. To apply, click on the button below.

Course Schedule Concerns
Students, if you have a concern with your first semester course that is inline with one of the priorities listed below, please report to the Counseling Classroom (door closest to math bathrooms) on Monday during the block of the conflict.
Priorities for Monday, August 22:
- I am a new student to Central High and still need a schedule.
- I am missing one semester of a year long class.
- I am a senior missing a requirement for graduation.
- I have been placed in the wrong level of a course.
- I have an empty block in 1st semester. (Note: 2nd semester can be resolved later)
- I am enrolled in a class I have already taken and passed.
- I have a class for which I do not meet the prerequisite requirements.
If your course schedule concern is not inline with one of the priorities listed above, but you would still like to review options with your counselor, please follow the schedule you have for Monday and then check in with your counselor on Tuesday, August 23.
As a reminder, Central High's school counselors are assigned to students based on the student's last name.

Lunch Assignments for Semester 1
Students: Your lunch shift is determined by your course assignment during the lunch block (e.g. I have English class 6th block therefore I eat lunch during 2nd lunch).
When the bell rings to begin passing period from 5th to 6th block on ALL Days, 3rd to 5th block on ODD Day, or Ac Lab to 6th block on EVEN Days, where do I go?
- For students assigned to 1st lunch: report to the Commons for lunch.
- For students assigned to 2nd lunch or 3rd lunch: report to class.

Chromebooks: Update
For all students new to PCH, including all incoming 9th graders and upperclassmen, you will receive a district issued Chromebook. Unfortunately, the district is experiencing a shipping delay, which will push back our distribution date by a few weeks. In the interim...
- For incoming 9th graders who attended a Parkway middle school last year, please bring your Chromebook from middle school charged and ready to go.
- For students new to Parkway, if you have a device you can bring to school, please do so.
If you do not have a device to bring, that's okay; we'll adjust!
Morning Arrival Procedures
Students and Parents: Please review this section whether you are riding the bus to school, dropping off your student, or driving yourself.
