Coming to Fall Fest This Friday? It's Time to Sign-up for Your 45-minute Volunteer Shift!

Fall Fest is one of Wildwood's biggest and most beloved events of the year, and it takes our entire school community to make it happen!

We're asking every family to pitch in by volunteering for just one 45-minute shift. We still need 8 volunteers per grade level for our game booths and 24 volunteers for the inflatables and rock wall.

Our PTA has worked hard to plan an incredible evening for our Tigers. Now we need your help to bring it all to life! Without enough volunteers, some of our favorite activities (Inflatables and Game Booths) may have to close...and nobody wants that.

Have a middle or high schooler, grandparent, or family friend looking to volunteer? They’re welcome to help too! You can even find a buddy and split the 45-minute shift so you each only volunteer for part of the time.

👉 SIGN UP FOR YOUR 45-MINUTE SHIFT HERE!

Wildwood thrives because of families like yours. Thank you for helping make Fall Fest a wonderful experience for all our Tigers! 💙💛

Don't forget to pre-order your Fall Fest punch cards and wristbands before Friday!

All Grades Costume Parade

Our Annual All Grades Costume Parade will begin at 8:20am on Friday, October 30th. Parents are invited to stay after drop-off and watch the parade. This year, like last year, the parade will weave through each classroom, so parents may gather on one of our two upper blacktops to view the parade as it passes by.

As a reminder, student costumes must be school appropriate. Full face masks, blood or gore, and any type of weapon are not permitted. Also, since this year's parade will weave through the classrooms, we ask all students to avoid wearing inflatable costumes and any costume that covers their face because they make it difficult to navigate the narrow twists and turns through the classrooms.

Any students who do not wish to participate in the parade will be provided an alternate activity.

We will NOT be pre-registering guests for the Costume Parade this year. Instead, we invite families to remain on campus after the 8:05am morning line-up bell. Those of you who arrive after gates are closed at 8:10am may enter campus through the front driveway bike gate which will be open on this morning for campus access.

We look forward to seeing you at our All Grades Costume Parade.

Head Lice Information for Families

Head lice are common among school-aged children and are not a health emergency. Wildwood follows CVUSD guidelines that emphasize early detection, proper treatment, and keeping students learning whenever possible. Regular head checks at home and following simple cleaning steps are the most effective ways to manage lice. Our staff is available to support families and answer questions.

Attendance

If your child will be absent or arriving late for any reason, please remember to call our office or leave a message on our attendance line at (805) 492-3531 before 8:30AM. Be sure to state the date and reason for your child’s absence or late arrival, and your child’s teacher or room number. Any unexcused absence is counted as a truancy. Students are allowed only three truancies per year before action is taken. Planning ahead with your child will also help to avoid unnecessary tardiness. Students who arrive on time feel better about themselves and perform better in the classroom.

Stay Connected with "Five Key Takeaways" from Our Advisory Councils/Committees

Family participation and engagement is a key priority of the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Our seven Advisory Councils and Committees meet regularly for vibrant discussions, informative presentations, relationship-building activities and more. These meetings are open to all members of our CVUSD community to attend. However, we understand that attending meetings in-person is not always possible. Visit THIS CVUSD WEBPAGE to stay informed on updates and actions from each Advisory Council and Committee, with "Five Key Takeaways" from each meeting.

Please click the "Digital Backpack" image to check if any new community fliers have been posted recently. Not all fliers will appear as images in our Wildwood Weekly newsletter, and we don't want you to miss out on community events, classes, or opportunities that are of interest to you. Fliers are organized under three tabs:

  • School-Connected Organizations and Governmental Agencies
  • Non-Profit Groups
  • All Other Groups

From time to time, individuals or groups in the community will distribute information and advertisements to parents/guardians on the public sidewalks during school arrival or dismissal. This information is not affiliated or endorsed by Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD. Any approved communications (i.e. announcements, fliers) from Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD will be provided directly from the school to you via email, or given to your students to take home. If you ever are unsure whether or not materials are from Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD, please do not hesitate to contact the front office.
