Dear Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and excited for the new school year! Your continued support and partnership are what make our school community so special, and we are grateful for each of you.

Important Announcements

• Spirit Wear Orders: A friendly reminder that the last day to order Spirit Wear (t-shirts and sweatshirts for students and adults) through our group order is Sunday, September 21st. Enjoy no-cost shipping with pickup at the school!

• Fall Mum Pickup: Mark your calendars! Fall mum pickup will take place on Wednesday, September 24th and Thursday, September 25th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Please note that all orders MUST be picked up by 6 PM on Thursday; any remaining mums will be given away to other families and staff. We cannot hold them at the school.

Celebrations from the Week

We are thrilled to share that our students have made wonderful progress as we kick off the school year. They are adjusting beautifully to their daily routines, and our dedicated teachers have begun diving into the curriculum while completing beginning-of-the-year assessments.

It is heartwarming to see the enthusiasm in our classrooms, and we appreciate your support as we nurture each child's learning journey.

Kids in Tune afterschool program at Woods Lakewill start on September 29th. We will be holding program on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays again this year.

• No cellphones, smartwatches, or personal electronic devices visible on school grounds (including buses) during school hours.
• No hats
• No hoods
• Pants must be worn on the waist, and should not fall below the waistline.
• Shorts and skirts must come to an appropriate length to cover your child's body.
• Shirts must cover abdomen and chest area
• Physical Agression/Fighting on school grounds or a KPS bus will result in a suspension and a "Return to Learn" meeting before your student may return to school.

Please read and review the KPS student code of conduct for a full list of KPS conduct expectations before your student attends school.

The Piano Lab is back and open for sign-ups! This is a fun and enriching opportunity for 2nd - 5th grade students to explore music and build piano skills, no experience needed!

Students will have two 30 minute classes twice a week. Once you register we will handle scheduling with your student's classroom teacher. Please sign up by registering online at: www.thegilmore.org/education/piano-labs/woods-lake or filling out the paper form your student should have received from their classroom teacher.

Thank you for your attention to our dismissal procedures. To make changes to your child(ren)'s regular dismissal plan, please call the front office to inform the secretaries before 3 PM. We cannot authorize a different bus change on the same day; any changes must be approved by the KPS Transportation Department first.

If you would like to pick up your child, who typically rides the bus, please ensure you call our front office before 3 PM.

Office will shut down from 3:30 PM until last bus leaves the school. This means that phone calls will not be accepted, and doors will be locked until our dismissal procedures are completed. Our goal is to give all of our staff the time to ensure that all of our students are getting home safely.

The office will open up as soon as dismissal has ended until 4:30 PM. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
