PBIS at Lilja
Dear Lilja Families,
We’re excited to share some highlights from our recent PBIS initiatives! Every classroom participated in our Door Décor Challenge, celebrating our core values of Kindness, Perseverance, Creativity, and Cultural Respect. Congratulations to our classroom award winners:
🏆 Creative Thinkers Award: 2B
💖 Kindness Kudos: 3N
💪 Perseverance Powerhouse: MultiAge
🌎 Cultural Respect Ribbon: MultiLingual Room
We’re also incredibly proud of the amazing work our students and staff have done during dismissal. Thanks to clear expectations and everyone’s teamwork, the bus lines have been calm, positive, and safe—no small feat with over 100 students in the gym at once!
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting a positive and caring school community.
Warmly,
The Lilja PBIS Team

Things To Know
SCHOOL LUNCH SURVEY:
Student Viewpoint Survey! Student ViewPoint is open thru Friday October 31st. Now is your chance to participate in a short survey to gather feedback on the school lunch and breakfast program!
REQUEST FOR CAR DROP OFF/PICK UP:
Please consider turning off your cars when if you are parked and waiting for arrival/dismissal to begin. The Massachusetts anti-idling law (M.G.L. c. 90, § 16A) generally prohibits unnecessary engine idling for more than five consecutive minutes. The law aims to improve air quality and public health by reducing pollution. We appreciate your cooperation!
Renaissance Learning Update For 2025-2026 School Year

Fall Festival
Costume Guidelines
We will continue the tradition of a fall festival on October 31. This is an optional event: students may opt out wearing a costume.
All costumes MUST meet the following guidelines to ensure a safe and positive experience for all of our students:
Please follow your teacher’s directives about arriving in or out of costume. Students should bring in a bag for their costume- please label with your student’s name to minimize mix-ups.
Costumes may not compromise the health or safety of anyone
Costumes may not present any reference to drugs or alcohol and may not include toy or replica weapons. All props must be left at home.
Costumes may not display inappropriate language, pictures or hold / imply connotation or double meaning. Students are not permitted to wear costumes that poke fun at another person or group.
Costumes should be within the student’s body space- unfortunately, “blow up” costumes can be too cumbersome for the size of our learning spaces and are not permitted.
Costumes may not incorporate methods of transportation such as rollerblades, wagons, skateboards, etc.
Costumes may not depict any inappropriate character designed to cause discomfort for member(s) of the school community (think age-appropriate characters - not characters from R-rated movies, etc). This includes the emotional safety and respect of other students.
Students may not wear masks or headgear that covers their faces
School staff are not responsible to monitor that all costume pieces are returned home that day or for the condition they are returned in. (i.e. spills, rips, etc.)
If you have questions about a costume, contact me. I will have the final say as to the appropriateness and safety of any costume at Lilja. I am happy to answer specific questions before October 31.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Sincerely,
Dr. Marscher
