What's New With IB?
Our 10th grade students showed off their hard work on their Personal Projects! MYP students in their final year explore an area of personal interest over an extended period. It provides them the opportunity to consolidate their learning and develop important skills they’ll need in both further education and life beyond the classroom. It also helps them develop confidence to become principled, lifelong learners. These are just some of the amazing projects our students got to display to our community. Great job to all of our 10th graders who presented their project!
Emily Franks - Emily worked on a project called “Basic Bee-ology” where she explored the biology of bees and how honey is made. She showed off a bee transfer box she hand made, and brought fresh honey for us all to try.
Makayla Reiter
Makayla worked on a project called “Halter-Breaking a Goat”. Her goal was to completely train her goat, Socks! He is just over a year old and she wants to use him as a utility goat at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, where his mom is shown each year!
Olivia Gall
Olivia Gall - Olivia’s personal project was using fabric and several other materials to make hats that would fit her snake. She made lots of variations of different hats that included a birthday hat, a wig, a top hat, a crown, and many more. She learned how to measure the fabric to fit her growth, and she had fun with dressing up her snake to make her look cuter.

Career Week for GIRLs
3 Weeks in June that can change a lifetime!
The HOYA Foundation started Career Week for GIRLs to encourage more young women to pursue careers in transportation and construction. Why? Because only 11% of the construction workforce is women. That fact carries economic implications and substantial opportunities.
Over one week, girls – ranging from 13 to 23 years old – make five stops to engage with women, ask questions and tour work sites. Each company puts together a day long insight into their company and into the industry.
Five Days Can Change a Life There are three weeks in June: June 1-5, June 8-12 or June 22-26 There is no cost to those girls that are selected. The application is open online
Want to hear from the GIRLs? Watch this video from last year’s Career Week for GIRLs If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@ConstructionGirl.org Or visit our website: www.ConstructionGIRL.org
