MOHI Wins OT Thriller on way to Quarterfinals!
It's playoff time, and Monarch had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the Riverdale Ridge Ravens on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Coyotes, who have now won six games in a row.
Monarch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nico Rizzello, who threw for 137 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Another pass catcher making a difference was Tyler Tharp, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one score.
Monarch's run defense was locked in: Riverdale Ridge could only muster 1.6 yards per carry. The Coyotes haven't allowed more than 4.4 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.
Monarch's victory bumped their record up to 9-2, and set up a 4A quarterfinal match up against Montrose on the road next weekend.
We'll send these game details as soon as we have them!
