The spring conferences differ from the fall conferences in two key ways:

  1. Fall conferences focus on setting goals for the school year, while spring conferences provide an opportunity for parents to meet with teachers to talk about student progress.

  2. The way spring conferences are scheduled, there are fewer total meeting slots available across both conference days compared to the fall conferences.

Families who have recently met with their child’s teacher, including through an IEP meeting or a recent conference, may find that the information shared during spring conferences is similar. IEP meetings provide a more detailed and in-depth review of student progress. To allow space for families who have not yet had the opportunity to connect, we ask that you consider whether scheduling a conference at this time is needed.

Report cards will also be sent home at the end of March.

Interpretation Services Interpretation Services

On February 5, an email was sent to all ELL families with a brief survey to determine whether assistance was needed to schedule conference appointments with an interpreter. Families were also asked to indicate their date preferences. The survey closed at the end of the day on Sunday, February 8.

Families who completed the survey will receive a confirmation email once their conference has been scheduled. A unique conference link will be sent closer to the appointment date.

Families who are still interested in scheduling a conference may use the Pick-A-Time program to select a time that works best for their schedule. If you would like to request an interpreter, please email your student’s teacher, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Adults Entering the Building Adults Entering the Building

Safety is a Priority

To help ensure the safety of all students and staff, we ask that all families and visitors follow our building entry procedures:

  • Ring the doorbell – Please do not follow (“tailgate”) another person into the building. Ring the doorbell so the office staff can properly greet you and sign you in.

  • Check in at the office upon arrival – All visitors must sign in at the main office; no exceptions.

  • Avoid entering during dismissal – Whenever possible, please refrain from entering the building during dismissal times to keep hallways clear and safe for students.

  • Wait in the office – If dismissing a student early, please wait in the office. Not all staff may recognize visitors, and this ensures you are properly signed in.

  • Doorbell After 3:30 p.m. – After 3:30 p.m., the doorbell is answered by our Extended Learning Team, who provide coverage until 6:00 p.m.

We understand these procedures may feel like small inconveniences, but they are essential to maintaining a safe and secure school environment. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

School Grounds Closed When School is in Session

Our school campus is a valued space for both students and the greater community. We kindly remind families and community members that the campus is closed to the public during school hours. This includes playgrounds, fields, and all outdoor areas, which are reserved exclusively for student use to ensure safety and security throughout the school day.

In addition, dogs and other pets are not permitted on school grounds at any time.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep our students safe.

This is a common time of year for head lice.

Please check your child’s hair regularly and remind them to avoid sharing hats, hair accessories, and personal items. If you notice any signs of lice, such as itching or visible nits, please take prompt action and inform the school nurse. Since lice do not jump or fly, are not considered a contagious disease and do not cause illness, children do not need to stay home from school nor should they be isolated from others. It is recommended that all children refrain from prolonged direct head to head contact as this is the primary way that lice are transmitted.

Spring Clinic is for players in grades K-8

This is for beginner and experienced players!

Spring session will have a new format this year! We will have a weekly skills practice immediately followed by games. The players will be split into teams before the first practice. This will be Thursday evenings from 6-7:30. We will likely shorten the time to 1 hour total for grades K-3.

Location will be Derby Field in Bolton. We are playing on Thursdays, 6-7:30

Practice will start the week of April 6th and run for 8 weeks. It will end the week of June 1st. No session over April break.

We will be scheduling some games against other youth field hockey programs. We will try to incorporate these into our Thursday evening games/practice time. However, we may play some games on weekends.

Community Invitation: Annual Black History Month Celebration

Families are invited to attend the Annual Black History Month Celebration: Courage to Remember, a community-based event that brings history to life through music, storytelling, and performance.

This family-friendly experience is designed to help students and families engage with Black history in a meaningful and accessible way. The celebration is attended by community leaders and city officials and has become an annual tradition for families across the region.

We are also proud to share that students from our community will be performing, including Jody Sidelca, who will appear on stage with his choir.

Date: February 28, 2026
Location: Prior Performing Arts Center, Worcester
Tickets & Details: www.kirosha.com/blackhistory

Families who are interested in history, music, and cultural learning are encouraged to attend.
