Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
May 27th, 2022
I've been searching for the words to use for this week. They haven't come. There aren't sufficient words in the wake of the tragedy in Uvalde. Like most of our staff, and perhaps most of you, I shed tears this week picturing your children, and mine, and thinking about the unthinkable. Thinking about a world where such cruelty and tragedy is possible.
And all I can tell you is that into the gap -- the one between the world we have and the world we want -- walks a team of teachers and staff who love your children dearly and work with incredible dedication for them. Our team knows that you send us your greatest treasure and we take their safety and their learning with deep conviction.
Wednesday morning we met in the Library. We shared our hearts and humanity, our fears and our faith. We talked practically about listening and reassuring upset students if they brought concerns to us. And we talked about increasing our own vigilance and controlling what is in our control.
It reinforced for me the incredible opportunity and responsibility of working with children and for a community, and of the trust you place in us. And we know that our school is filled with brilliant, bright lights that will go out into this world and make it a better place.
In partnership,
-Mr. McComb

Spring Events Protocol
To help expedite the sign-in process, we have some options:
1) Provide your license information via this form and we can enter your information in advance and have a badge ready for you for the event.
2) Come to school in advance of the event and have your license scanned by the Raptor system.
3) If you have already come to school and had your license scanned this year, we can print the badge for you. Just complete the form to let us know when you're coming.
4) Come early on the day you wish to visit, because there will likely be a glut just before the event.
We don't want anyone to miss the beginning of any of these events, if possible, so please take one of these steps to help us all enjoy these events smoothly.

Lutherville Lab Going Forward
To ensure that we gather input, we have created this survey to gather insight from parents and staff. We will then gather a group of staff and community members to theme responses and update our mission, vision, and values to better capture who we are and set our course ahead. If you have interest in participating in that process, please submit your name through the survey. We will meet over the summer.
Thanks in advance for taking a few minutes to share with us what makes you proud of Lutherville Lab, what you see as the purpose for our work, and what you'd like for us to be known for in the future.
