Dear Wickham Families,

November is a month for showing gratitude, and I am so thankful for the hard work of our staff and students. We look forward to sharing your child(ren)’s progress with you at Parent–Teacher Conferences. If you still need to schedule a conference, please reach out to the office or your child’s teacher. Directions are also included in the Office section of this newsletter below.

Thank you for your generosity during this week’s Penny Wars. Wickham raised $764.17 for Dance Marathon, contributing to a total of $317,213.32 raised in just one day!

Please remember that our Veteran’s Day Assembly will take place on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:00 AM. This meaningful event gives students an opportunity to honor and recognize the service and sacrifices of our veterans. Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and/or blue. Thank you to Stacy Holmes and the Student Ambassadors for organizing the Penny Wars and assembly.

Last week, our teachers participated in professional development focused on supporting students in regulating their emotions. Molly Schreiber from Challenge to Change introduced tools that will help students strengthen their focus, resilience, and overall well-being. These lessons will be taught once per month during Morning Meetings and reinforced throughout the day as students need opportunities to re-center. We extend our appreciation to Ann Johnson for securing a grant that makes these supports possible and aligns with Wickham’s mission and vision.

Lastly, we want to thank our PTO for providing a bank of snacks for students who may be feeling hungry due to recent government closures. If your child is in need of an extra snack at school, please let his/her teacher know. We can discreetly send snacks home or offer an extra snack during the day as needed.
