Dear Wickham Families,

Parent-Teacher Conferences are such an important part of supporting your child’s learning and development. These conversations give us the chance to celebrate your child’s strengths, share progress, and partner together on next steps. It was wonderful to see so many families this past Wednesday, and we look forward to connecting with more of you during conferences next Wednesday. We truly value this time to hear your insights and work as a team to ensure your child feels successful and supported at school. Please remember that there is no school on Wednesday, November 19th, so that teachers can meet with you for conferences.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the PTO’s conference dinner for our teachers; your generosity is truly appreciated! We were able to enjoy a meal from the Olive Garden and even had some leftovers for lunch the next day!

Our Veterans Day Assembly this week was a truly powerful and emotional experience. This was our first assembly of its kind since COVID, and having our students, staff, families, and honored veterans together in one space made the moment even more meaningful. The respect and gratitude shown by our students was felt throughout the entire program. Thank you to our Student Ambassadors, as well as Ms. Holmes and Ms. Stiegelmeyer, for all of their work in planning, preparing, and leading such a meaningful celebration.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Winter Gear Donation Drive: November 17th – November 21st

Help keep our community cozy this winter! We are collecting gently used or new winter gear, including coats, snowpants, hats, gloves, and scarves. Donations can be sent with your student or dropped off at the school office.

If your family is in need of a new winter item, please reach out to our SFA, Jill Winders, at winder.jill@iowacityschools.org. Just let her know what items and sizes you need, along with your student’s name, and she’ll be happy to assist!

Thank you for helping ensure every student stays warm this winter!
