π¦ Wacky Water Day Volunteers Needed!
We are currently seeking approved volunteers to help with Wacky Water Day on May 28th.
If you are interested in supporting this fun event, please contact the school or reach out directly to:
π§ Mr. Porto β jporto@k12.wv.us
Your help makes events like this possible, and we appreciate your continued support of our Davis Dragons! πππ
π The Importance of Testing
As we enter testing season, we want to emphasize how important this time is for our students.
Next week, students in grades 3β5 will be completing the GSA (General Summative Assessment). It is important that students:
- β° Arrive at school on time
- π΄ Get a good nightβs rest
- π Eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school
Our students in grades Kβ2 will also be completing their i-Ready Diagnostics during this time. These assessments are equally important, and we ask that families support them in the same ways.
The following week, students in grades 3β5 will complete their i-Ready Diagnostics.
These assessments help us better understand each childβs progress and guide instruction moving forward. We are proud of the hard work our Davis Dragons have put in and know they are ready to do their best!
π End-of-Year PBIS Reward Trip
As we begin preparing for our end-of-year reward trip to The Hive, we want to remind families that this experience is part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) program.
This trip is earned through consistent effort and positive choices during the 4th nine weeks.
Students may not be eligible to attend if they have:
- 2 or more unexcused absences
- Office discipline referrals
- Not demonstrated their best academic effort, including participation in end-of-year GSA testing and i-Ready diagnostics
Our goal is for every student to earn this opportunity. We encourage families to continue supporting strong attendance, positive behavior, and consistent effort as we finish the school year.
We are proud of the progress our Davis Dragons have made and look forward to celebrating their success together.
π Hive Waiver Required
In order for your child to participate in our PBIS reward trip to The Hive Entertainment Zone, a completed waiver is required.
Please use the link below to complete the waiver prior to the trip:
π Complete Waiver Here
Completing this ahead of time will help ensure a smooth check-in process and allow students to fully participate in all activities. Many activity-based facilities require waivers for safety and liability purposes before participation.
If you have any questions or need assistance completing the form, please contact the school.
π Teacher Appreciation Week (May 3 β May 9)
May 3 through May 9 is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we are truly blessed to have the very best here at Davis Elementary.
Our teachers go above and beyond each day to support, inspire, and care for our students. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for the impact they make.
ππ We want to take this opportunity to simply sayβ¦ THANK YOU! π

π Students of the Month β March & April β
Due to Spring Break, we got a bit behind on sharing our March newsletter. Because of that, we are excited to recognize our Students of the Month for both March and April in this edition!
These students have demonstrated outstanding effort, positive behavior, and what it truly means to be a Davis Dragon.
