New ISBE Performance Measures

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) is the state assessment and accountability measure for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. The IAR assesses the Illinois Learning Standards, incorporating the Common Core, and is administered in English language arts and mathematics to all students in grades 3-8. This year, ISBE implemented new, right-sized performance levels for English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science. These metrics are designed by ISBE to provide a more accurate and consistent picture of student learning and readiness. Due to this statewide change, 2025 proficiency results establish a new baseline for all Illinois students and are not directly comparable to prior-year scores.

District 67 Report Card Highlights

  • District 67 ELA proficiency rates reached 84.3% in the 2024-25 school year, placing District 67 in the top 3% of Illinois districts (96.85th percentile).

  • District 67 Math proficiency rates reached 79.8 in the 2024-25 school year, placing District 67 in the top 2% of Illinois districts in Math (98.3rd percentile).

  • District 67 ranks 13th in Math and 24th in ELA out of 763 Illinois school districts.

  • While the state’s new, higher and more rigorous cut scores in science make it appear that proficiency levels declined to 73.4%, our actual student performance improved. In fact, science scores across the district increased from 81% to 83.2% when measured against prior benchmarks. We remain focused on continuous improvement in science instruction and on ensuring our curriculum and classroom practices are fully aligned with the state’s more rigorous college and career readiness standards.
