What is CCA Connections?

Join us for a series of informal morning gatherings designed to connect you with our school's leadership and community. Each month, we'll feature a short presentation on a key school topic, followed by an open Q&A session where you can ask questions, share your thoughts, and get to know our school community better.

This Month's Topic: Safety

Understanding our campus security is key to a safe learning environment. School Resource Officers Bea Quintana and Colton O'Keefe will be on hand to explain CCA’s comprehensive safety protocols. They'll walk attendees through the 'why' and 'how' behind everything we do—from our daily sign-in procedures to our full-scale emergency response plans—ensuring everyone is clear on their role in maintaining campus safety.

Dress Like a Book Character Day Dress Like a Book Character Day

Friday, October 31

All students are invited to dress like a book character on Friday, October 31, 2025. Students must identify which book character they are dressing like by having a copy of their book with them. Book characters chosen cannot be violent or scary. No weapons are allowed to be carried. Book character dress must be appropriate for students to remain in all day. Free dress guidelines must be followed.

We will have a Literacy Parade in the gym where all of our K-4 students will show their book characters and books to our middle school students. If your child does not dress up as a book character, they can still take part in the literacy parade by showing their favorite book. Our middle school students will actively be looking for different book characters and will be entered into a drawing for identifying the most book characters.

Please fill the form below for each child (K-8) that you have at CCA so that we can identify each book character!

The Emmanuel Art Gallery at CU Denver is currently hosting Homeland: Nepali Modernism and the Art of Lain Singh Bangdel, a traveling solo exhibition curated by Yang Wang, Associate Professor of Art History. After debuting in New York then Houston, Hong Kong and Kathmandu and moving on to London in 2023, this remarkable exhibition has now arrived in Denver, where it will remain on display through December 13.

The Denver opening drew a packed house of art lovers, students, and cultural leaders, a powerful testament to the relevance and resonance of Bangdel’s work across audiences. For American viewers, this is one of the rare opportunities to encounter his art firsthand.

Organized in partnership with CU Denver’s College of Arts & Media, Otterbein University, Dr. Bibhakar Shakya, Mr. & Mrs. Mangala and Yogeswar Amatya, Mr. Karl Johnson, and the Colorado Nepalese Community, this exhibition highlights the pioneering role of Bangdel—the “father of modern art in Nepal.” His work bridges tradition and modernism, Nepal and the world, making it a valuable resource for students to engage with global perspectives in art.
