School Safety Reminder

School safety is always a top priority at Meadow Brook. As we begin a new school year, we want to remind returning families—and inform our new Mustang families—of a few important safety protocols. While following these guidelines may take a few extra minutes, we hope everyone will join us in choosing safety over convenience.

Crosswalks: Crosswalks are located near all of our parking lots. Please help us model safe behavior by consistently using these designated areas.

Additionally, any student who lives east of 950 West and walks or bikes to school must use the crosswalk where the crossing guard is stationed. This is essential for ensuring student safety during busy arrival and dismissal times.

Thank you for helping us keep all Mustangs safe!

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

To ensure student safety and smooth traffic flow, please carefully review the following guidelines for our drop-off and pick-up areas:

1. North Drop-Off & Pick-Up Area

This is our primary and largest drop-off and pick-up location—about 3.5 times bigger than the other two areas. For this reason, we ask that all parents use this area whenever possible. Doing so helps keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently for everyone.

After school, please pull all the way forward to the northeast corner of the lane before picking up your child. When cars stop too early in the lane:

  • It creates a safety risk as students run to vehicles,

  • It holds up the pick-up line, and

  • It causes other cars to go around stopped vehicles—something that has unfortunately led to accidents in the past.

Please help us reinforce safe habits by encouraging your child to wait on the northeast corner of the school until you pull forward to pick them up.

2. North-East Drop-Off & Pick-Up Area
This area is designated for specialty vehicles only (e.g., daycare vans or unique transportation needs). Due to its smaller size, traffic can quickly back up and spill onto 950 West. When this happens, it blocks the intersection at 950 West and 700 South, making it difficult for vehicles to exit the North Drop-Off Area. If you have a specific reason for needing to use this area, please contact us so we can accommodate you. You are also welcome to use this area after 3:40 p.m. for pick-up, when traffic is lighter.

3. South-East Drop-Off & Pick-Up Area
This area is for buses only. Please do not use this area for student drop-off or pick-up.

4. Student Supervision Begins at 8:45 a.m.
For student safety, please do not drop off your child before 8:45 a.m., as there will be no adult supervision prior to that time.

Thank you for helping us keep drop-off and pick-up times safe and efficient for all our Mustangs!

Morning Options

When students come to school, they have three options:

1. Enter the west lunchroom doors of the school to eat breakfast in the lunchroom.

2. Enter the west gym doors of the school to sit in the gym

3. Play or talk with friends on the playground, field, or blacktop.

At 9:05 a.m., the bell will ring, and students will line up in their meeting area. If your student comes to school after 9:05, they need to enter the school through the main doors.
