PreK Family Mornig!
A Note From Hillary, Susannah, & Rebecca
Dear PS 3 Families and Staff,
As we wrap up our second week of school, we continue to be filled with gratitude for the positive energy throughout our building. One of the greatest joys of September is watching our students grow more comfortable each day. From our youngest learners in 3K to our fifth graders preparing to lead by example, students are demonstrating kindness, curiosity, resilience, and joy for learning.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to create a school community where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to thrive.
βοΈ Thank You for Helping Us Start Strong
We appreciate everyone's cooperation with arrival and dismissal routines. The system becomes smoother each day thanks to the patience, flexibility, and partnership of our families and staff.
A few reminders:
School begins promptly at 8:15 AM
Early drop-off begins at 8:00 AM through the Hudson Street entrance
Students arriving late should enter through the main entrance on Hudson Street
Please continue to leave dismissal areas clear so teachers can safely escort students to their designated locations
Your partnership helps ensure a safe and successful school day for all students.

πStudent Spotlight: Wyatt, 5th Gradeπ
Wyatt is a 5th grader who loves the outdoors and a good adventure! Although he lives in New York City, he sometimes wishes he lived by a lake in the country so he could go fishing every day. He especially loves visiting Virginia, where he caught his first catfish with his Aunt Jenny and Uncle Jay!
Youβll usually find Wyatt laughing, and if you tell a good joke, heβll be your best audience. He has always loved trainsβespecially Big Boys and steam trainsβand recently got a Switch 2, so he loves playing games with his friends.
Like his dad, Wyatt is an adventurous eater. Oysters, sushi and ramen? Yes, please! He loves playing baseball at the pier, heading to Governors Island for adventures, playing tag at night in our courtyard and, most of all, βhanginβ with the boysβ in our neighborhood. Heβs also a big roller-coaster fan and loves going to Coney Island with his Uncle Alan and Aunt Jen.
Wyatt is compassionate and kind and is always ready to give a good hug. And did we mention he loves to dance? Heβs currently working on perfecting his moonwalk!
Whether heβs fishing, laughing, exploring, dancing or spending time with his friends, Wyatt brings a lot of funβand a very big heartβwherever he goes.
β¨PS3 Staff Spotlight - Kimberly PreK β¨
π Staff Spotlight: Kimberly π
Kimberly has been a cherished member of the PS 3 community since 2001, teaching our youngest learners in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and multi-age K/1 classrooms. A lifelong educator, she has always loved working with children and especially enjoys the wonder, curiosity, and excitement that four-year-olds bring to school each day. What makes PS 3 special to her is the strong sense of community, where families are involved, teachers are happy, and students love coming to school.
Outside the classroom, Kimberly enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. One of her favorite memories is visiting Japan on her honeymoon, and she hopes to explore more of Asia someday. Her favorite PS 3 tradition is the Halloween Parade, which brings together current and former students, families, and staff in a joyful celebration. Her advice to students is simple but powerful: "Always be kind." We are so grateful for Kimberly's dedication and the warmth she brings to PS 3 every day!
