Mission and Vision of Arcadia Elementary
From the Desk of the Principal
Dear Arcadia Star Families,
What a phenomenal first week of school at Arcadia Elementary! Our Arcadia Stars came ready to shine, and we could not be prouder of such a strong start to the school year.
It has been an incredible week watching our school community come together. Across every grade level, we saw:
Building Connections: Meaningful relationships forming between students, teachers, and staff.
Mastering Routines: Classrooms and hallways bustling as students learned and practiced daily routines.
Engaging Learning: Core content brought to life through engaging activities.
Seeing our students jump into learning with enthusiasm and big smiles sets a wonderful tone for the months ahead. Thank you for your partnership, support, and encouragement in making the first weeks such a success. We are so excited for all the growth, learning, and fun that this school year will bring!
Shine bright, Stars!
Warmly,
Meaghan O. Timmons
Principal, Arcadia Elementary
Please return your student's fall conference form to help us

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
All Day, Every Day.
ATTENDANCE UPDATES
Consistent attendance is one of the most powerful predictors of student success, and we need your partnership to ensure our Arcadia Stars are present for our full instructional day from 8:50 AM to 3:50 PM daily.
Research shows that regular school attendance directly boosts early literacy skills, strengthens social-emotional development, and builds essential habits for long-term academic growth. Conversely, chronic early dismissals result in critical missed instruction and create classroom disruptions that interrupt the learning environment for all students.
ATTENDANCE CELEBRATIONS
- "POP UP PRIZES": Monthly celebrations for Stars who arrive on time, stay the entire day, and maintain at least 90% positive attendance will take place! Each month we will have a "Pop Up Prize/Celebration" for those students.
- PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS: Each month, we will honor students with monthly perfect attendance by hosting a celebration and certificate each month!
If your family faces barriers to attendance and needs support, please reach out to Mrs. Catherine West, our Home Support Specialist, at westcl@kalamazoopublicschools.net. You can also call the office at 269-337-0530.
