Nauset Regional Middle School ROCKS
A Weekly Update from NRMS - November 14, 2025
NRMS Musicians at Veterans Day Ceremony
We are proud to share that our middle school band and chorus had the honor of representing NRMS at the Orleans Veterans Day Ceremony. Despite the very cold weather, many of our dedicated students still attended and performed, honoring our veterans with great pride. The band played “My Country ’Tis of Thee,” the chorus sang the National Anthem, and all of our students helped lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, demonstrating their respect and gratitude for those who have served.
As part of the ceremony, our school community also joined in the opening and dedication of the new Memorial Park, a meaningful space created to honor and remember our local veterans.
We are incredibly thankful to our veterans for their service, and we recognize the importance of honoring them on this special day.

Wreath Sale
The NRMS PTO is thrilled to kick off the 2025 wreath sale. This community tradition goes back decades and it's not only an opportunity to spread holiday cheer, but also put money in the bank for your students. A portion of every wreath sold by any student will be saved by the NRMS PTO for them to use in eighth grade. Tell your family, friends and neighbors about these beautiful 12-inch wreaths made of fresh Canadian pine (you can dust off the Canadian snow on Distribution Day!). Your student has received wreath sale instructions and an order form (see attached). The NRMS PTO is a registered non-profit with the state of Massachusetts. If you have any questions, please reach out to ptonrms@gmail.com

Nauset App Help Page
Families should download the Nauset App to receive school updates, alerts, and messages. Please note: some people have mistakenly downloaded the Thrillshare App instead. The Thrillshare App is for staff only and does not allow families to log in. To help, we have created the Nauset App Help Page on the district website under the Students and Families tab. This page includes written guides and short tutorials to walk you through downloading and using the app. Visit the page here: Nauset App Help Page

Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
This past Wednesday I had the opportunity to meet with the 8th grade class during Nauset Time. Our 8th graders are such an outstanding group of scholars and citizens. We recognized the five students that were selected to represent Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, and Truro in Project 351 in Boston in January. We also discussed some upcoming events like the annual cornhole tournament and the New York City overnight trip in June. On Wednesday evening we hosted an informational meeting for parents of 8th graders to review the details of the NYC trip. In order to confirm that this trip will happen, we need all interested 8th graders to be registered by December 1. We are also seeking parents to help us organize some fundraising events like a spaghetti dinner, a fun run, a talent show, or other ideas you may have. Please contact me or Mr. Peterson if you are willing to organize some class fundraisers. It would be prudent for parents of 6th and 7th graders to also begin raising funds for the 8th grade trip now, to have plenty of time to raise the funds needed to offset the cost for families. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps us out with organizing fundraising events. More information about the trip registration process is below.
Next week, we invite you to dine at the Barley Neck on November 19. 11% of the proceeds from that evening will be donated to the NRMS Education Foundation that provides some scholarship assistance for experiences like the NYC trip.
Also next week, the Town of Orleans will have a special town meeting. For information purposes only, one item being considered is renovations and upgrades to the Eldredge Park located at our school. You can read about the project on the flyer in this newsletter.
Today, the Orleans Police met with students to review safety and security procedures at our school. We are so thankful for the partnership we have in place with the OPD.
Finally for this week, the winter sports season is here. Please review information below. We know we have a number of student-athletes interested in joining the basketball teams. There will be an information meeting next week.
Enjoy the weekend.

8th Grade Class Trip to NYC - Register Today
We are excited to share with you the enrollment information for the grade 8 class trip to New York City. At the informational meeting on Wednesday, November 12th we shared how to enroll your student, and other important information regarding the trip. If for whatever reason you missed that meeting we are sharing a video recording (click here) that we encourage you to watch that explains a lot of the important information.
There are two important steps to register your student for the grade 8 NYC Trip.
Step 1: Enroll through our tour company partner Hummingbird Student Tours using this link.
Step 2: Complete the NRMS Enrollment Google Form using this link
https://forms.gle/kpnhV7P8kv3irAwM6
It is important for you to enroll so that we can have an accurate count of the number of students that plan on attending the trip. As mentioned in the meeting please enroll even if you can't pay the initial deposit at this time. We understand that families might have financial concerns. To that end we encourage participation in the PTO wreath fundraiser (students get $8 per wreath sold credited towards their trip) and we will have other opportunities for fundraising in the future.
Please note that if we do not have enough students enrolled we will have to cancel the trip. The minimum number of students needed is 80.
Please be aware that there is trip insurance offered at an extra expense. If you are interested in that insurance please read the details carefully as there is a time frame that you need to sign up for after registering your student.
We are excited for this great opportunity for our 8th grade students. Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Peterson at petersonr@nausetschools.org with any questions.
