What a week, our 6th graders enjoyed a fun filled 3 days in Sonora and our 5th graders explored at the tech museum in San Jose! Thank you to everyone that has continued to bring in canned foods for our drive, we are halfway to our goal! The last day to turn in cans will be Tuesday, November 18th! Also, don't forget that we have No School on Monday 11/10 and Tuesday 11/11. We hope you all enjoy a relaxing 4-day weekend!

November 11th is Veteran’s Day, an annual U.S. federal holiday honoring military veterans. The date is also celebrated as Remembrance Day in other parts of the world and commemorates the ending of the First World War in 1918. Veteran’s Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day; Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who gave their lives while in service.

Marlins, this week we’re asking: When is Veteran’s Day honored in the U.S? Place one answer slip in a Cultural Corner box by the end of the school day this Thursday for your chance to win a prize. Your Student Council members will select 1 primary and 1 upper grade student from a raffle during Friday morning announcements.
