Cahaba Turns Trussville Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Cahaba Elementary proudly joined the city-wide Turn Trussville Pink initiative in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Each October, this event brings the community together to raise awareness and show support for those affected by breast cancer. This year’s participation held extra meaning for our school community as we honored Ms. Candace, one of our dedicated Child Nutrition Program (CNP) team members. Ms. Candace has faced her breast cancer journey with incredible courage and positivity, and we are proud to celebrate her strength and resilience. Staff and students wore pink to show their support and stand in solidarity with those impacted by breast cancer. It was a meaningful day filled with love, encouragement, and unity. Together, we continue to raise awareness and honor the brave individuals, like Ms. Candace, who inspire us every day.

Veterans are invited to drive through the loop in front of the school, where students dressed in red, white, and blue will cheer, wave flags, and sing in celebration. This year, a Best Decorated Vehicle Contest has been added. Veterans can decorate their vehicles and enter by scanning the QR code on the event flyer—no registration is required for the parade. Each Veteran will receive a small token of appreciation, and they are welcome to circle the loop more than once. The school's show choir, SHINE, will perform from the front porch during the event. Family members are welcome to attend and are asked to remain on the flagpole side of the street for safety. Join us as we honor and celebrate those who have served!
