What a great start to the new school year! We had a very busy and productive September. A special thanks to all who were able make it to our Open House/BBQ night to meet and mingle with staff and our community. The smiles and fellowship made this a memorable evening for all. A HUGE thank you to our parent volunteers for all their hard work and on-going support of our annual community BBQ.

A special thank you to the community for your generosity with Terry Fox Marathon of Hope in support of cancer research. We raised approx. $4,000 in support for cancer research. Thank you to our community for your donations and continued support. It was also wonderful to see our students wearing orange to honour all the survivors of residential schools on Monday, September 30th, 2025, Truth and Reconcilation.

Our Catholic School Council elections and the first meeting are scheduled for Monday, October 6th, 2025, at 6:00 pm. If you are interested in being a part of our Catholic School Council 2025-2026 school year, please submit the nomination form listed below.

We look forward to working in partnership as Pilgrams of Hope..... on the Path to Holiness!

Blessed are You, loving Father,

for all of Your gifts to us.

Blessed are You for giving us the gift of

family and friends.

We pause and give You thanks, Lord, for all these gifts:

For the rains that give life,

for the harvest.

As we rejoice in Your kindness,

We pray for those who are in need.

Open our hearts to them and teach us to be generous to others as

You are to us.

Thank you, God!

Amen

Faith

In October –we celebrate the virtue of empathy. God wants us to care about everyone’s feelings.

An empathetic person…

  • listens when people speak
  • notices when someone is upset and tries to help
  • can name her/his feelings
  • can see a situation from another person’s point of view
  • accepts that others have different perspectives

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has implemented a new student absence reporting system that will make it easier for you to report your child’s absence from school. This new system is called SafeArrival. With SafeArrival, you are asked to report your child’s absence in advance using any of the following three convenient options:

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is a faith-filled community in which every learner is sacred, created in the image of God. Respect for human dignity is the foundation of equitable and inclusive education. When the safety of a child or youth may be at risk, DPCDSB collaborates with the Peel Children’s Aid Society in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon, and Dufferin Child and Family Services in Dufferin County, including Orangeville. These organizations are mandated to help, support, and strengthen families, so children and youth are safe and well.

At times, school staff may become aware of students who are experiencing difficulties. It is not the school’s responsibility to investigate, evaluate or assign blame. It is everyone’s responsibility to help keep all children safe.

It is the law in Ontario that every person within the school board who suspects that a child may be experiencing abuse, neglect or risk of harm must report this directly to the appropriate Children’s Aid Society (Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017, amended 2021). This includes reporting suspected or confirmed cases of human/sex trafficking (Bill 251).

Concerns must be shared with the appropriate Children’s Aid Society so that a support plan is developed with families to ensure the safety of the child. When a report to Children’s Aid is made, school and community-based resources may be offered to help resolve concerns or issues. The DPCDSB also continues to support students who are in the care of the Children’s Aid societies.

It is the sacred trust of DPCDSB to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners, so that every student can thrive.
