Weekly Recap
Welcome back! I hope that you all have had an amazing summer filled with love and laughter! The Machost family spent as much time as we could on the lake. Our family Happy Place!! My son interned for the second summer at an engineering firm in Frisco. He returns to Arkansas this fall for his last semester. My daughter is headed back to the University of Oklahoma, and she has changed her major to secondary education. We are so proud of our kids. Nothing makes a parent’s heart happier than your babies finding their path.
Our DMS team has been busy getting ready to welcome back our Dowell Lions in the coming weeks. We have included the basics in this first Mighty Roar of the 2024-25 school year. Our theme this year is “DMS Connects.” We feel like this connects with the district mission of “Every Student, Every Day.” Be on the lookout for some great pics from our Academy Week.
We have a few new faces at Dowell. I can’t wait to introduce you to them. Be sure to check out our social media in the next few weeks as we introduce our new team members.
We are finalizing our master schedule. Schedules will be tentative when you view them at Lion Pride Camp and Meet the Teacher on August 6th. We may still need to make a few tweaks. A fresh copy will be given to every student during first period on the first day of school.
Home Access Center (HAC) is the platform MISD utilizes to check schedules and grades. Students and parents both have access. If you are unable to access HAC, please call 469-302-4048 for assistance. Our registrar will not be able to assist you.
A few calendar highlights: The times listed below are correct.
- Lion Pride Camp - Tuesday, August 6th at 3:00 - 5:00 pm (6th graders only - scheduled event)
- Meet the Teacher - Tuesday, August 6th at 5:30 pm (6th graders do not need to attend - come and go event)
- First Day of School - Thursday, August 8th
